  A lovely Hotel in Beautiful surroundings

  This is a warm friendly family hotel nicely furnished . The food was excellent and trere is a warm friendly atmosphere about the place. the Manager/Chef greeted us each morning at breakfast. The hotel is a few hundred yards from the bus stop into the town and the Manager can arrange a lift for anyone who may find the walk to the bus stop difficult. We had a splendid relaxed holiday there and would highly recommend it

  A lovely hotel with nearby beautiful cliff walks and bays

  We stayed hear the first week of September. We requested the same room as in 2018 and were pleased that we had the same room with balcony fridge and on suite. It was so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. The room and hotel was very clean and the service was good. We found the Manager and his staff were very accommodating of our needs. The food was good and varied. Well done to all the team who were always cheerful. Thank you so much for making our stay enjoyable. We hope to return next year providing our health allows us.   Average room, amateur service, awful dinner

  This hotel makes such a tired impression. Our room was O.K., but poorly maintained (e.g. badly fitting bathroom door, threadbare bath towels and uncomfortable old mattresses). The shower was good, but this really was the only real upside. Service was friendly but amateur, and the receptionist spent her time surfing the net and ignoring the few guests. The surroundings were badly maintained (e.g. grass sprouting between the flagstones round the swimming pool) or inadequately cleaned (e.g. sticky tables covered with crumbs in the breakfast room). Breakfast was the worst weve had in two weeks in the Channel Islands, and dinner was really bad. We chose the carrot and coriander soup, which was so bland that it tasted of nothing at all, followed by overcooked pork belly with unsalted, lumpy mashed potatoes and an uninspired apple pie with reconstituted custard. And this meal at a price of £24 per person! The chef, Ash, appeared in a grubby T-shirt and a dirty baseball cap. Worst of all, the hotel website exhorts the splendor of the hotel and the excellence of this very chef. Local residents told us that both the chef and the hotel had been fine until a couple of years ago, but they had deteriorated massively since. I cant imagine there will be many more reviews after this one, as the hotel seems unlikely to survive. Thats a pity, as it is beautifully sited close to the cliffs and could surely thrive under more caring and more professional management.

  Absolutely terrible waited ages for drinks order,menus different from website said. I kids menus then ask someone els and they get one all over the place they are not good communication, service slooowwwwww food cold and crap. Never again will we go there waste of a trip out there

  Tennerfest review

  The venue was so cold both the Manager and the waiter were wearing outdoor jackets. Starters and puddings were fresh and tasty but main courses were very disappointing. Both the chicken and the beef rib was overcooked with a very average 'packet' sauce The veg was overcooked and not fresh (probably from frozen). These dishes were things I could have prepared to a better quality at home - it is not hard to peel and cook potatoes, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli and roast 2 pieces of meat. I wish I could leave a better review as this place should work but the starting point has to be fresh food cooked well.
