    Fantastic hotel and location

My experience with this hotel is limited to a one night stay. We got referred to this hotel as every other hotel within 50 kilometers were fully booked. The hotel is located at Saikaibashi outside Sasebo and Huis ten Bosu and the only logical form of transport out here is by either your own car or by taxi. That in general would make me call it a bad location, but it is the exact opposite. This is a beautiful area. Pleanty to see, photograph, walk through and so on. Pity I only was working in the area, because this is an area I would recommend. The hotel has a southern Europe theme to it. The staff speak excellent English and are very willing to assist with anything. The hotel contains two restaurants that I was aware of, a lobby bar (apparantly also an additional bar, but this was closed due to a wedding) and also a fitness center and a spa with sento. ( I didn't have time or energy to see the two latter on my one night stay) The room: The room I got together with my colleague was huge. Queen sized beds, room with a fantastic view, big bathroom and a good selection of channels on the tv, quite a few international ones as well. As always in Japan, the rooms were spotless. Not a single remark I can add. The bar and restaurant: The one thing that bothered me at this hotel on that one stay I had here, were the opening hours for the restaurant. Both restaurants had their last order at 10 at night, last entrance at 9. Had we known this we could perhaps got ourselves a better meal that night. However, the lobby bar had a decent food menu that they would serve until midnight. Although it was limited, what they offered was good and did the job to fill the stomach of a tired service engineer. All in all, with the small exception above, this is a great hotel. If I go for a holiday in this area... yeah I will absolutely stay here!

    A great resort for family!!

I wanted to stay a resort with an exotic appearance, a nice swimming pool for kids, and a great view from the room. This hotel was a perfect match. However I rate 4 because the room facilities were very tired(It seems that they have not upgrade the facilities since it opened) and the bedding was poor condition. Particularly the pillows were very uncomfortable. Overall I was satisfied and recommend.

Decent hotel but with very tired furnishing and decor

Just a short one night stay while visiting Huis Ten Bosch which is about 10 mins drive away. We checked in late after visiting Huis Ten Bosch and the hotel is very quiet when we arrived. It seems that the receptionist can only speak Japanese. On entering the room, I can understand why one of the review said about the overall decor and furnishing which is indeed like the 70s nut is very big for Japanese standard , in fact for any global standard. Went to try their in-house onsen and as maybe it was late, I am the only one using it. As we stayed on ground floor, the room overlooks greenery which is a nice calming sight. Overall I felt the hotel is very empty in a huge settings and doesnt appeal to me.

    A dated resort

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for a night in mid-August. Due to flight delay we arrived at the hotel at about 21:30 and missed the buffet dinner. The receptionist, an aged gentleman, coldly told us that there was no food available in the hotel then asked for the payment. I was quite surprised for this attitude. After checking-in we drove to a nearby convenience store (took about 5 minutes) for a simple dinner. The hotel offered free car park to guest and it was full during my stay. The hotel setting was really vast and looked like a Mediterranean resort. However the building and facilities were rather dated. We booked a double room with a balcony facing a small bay area. Everything was clean though old-fashioned. The environment was really quiet and nothing was heard at night. The hotel has an onsen facility. The outdoor onsen pool was closed at the time I used (about 22:00). In the next morning we strolled along the greenly path around the hotel. Nice environment. The buffet breakfast served a range of dishes. It seemed that the hotel attracted family guests. As a whole, the hotels comfortable, spacious, and laidback setting is its greatest advantage. It may be a fine alternative to the pricey options near HTB theme park (it takes about 10-15 minutes of driving). It takes about 25 minutes to drive to Sasebo. The downside is that it is really aged. It is also quite remote and very little facilities are found within the walking distance and you may need your own wheels (a toll of 100 yens required). The staffs response at the front desk was disappointing to me. I know that the hotel will soon be renovated and I hope the customer service can be improved. TripAdvisor
