Bathroom was odd but overall it was a nice staySo the bathroom has got a Jacuzzi. My son had so much fun playing in there, but it was kind of hard to get in and out. I don't think I would want to stay here if I was a senior or if I had problems with my knees. Breakfast is just coffee and pre packaged donuts so be prepare if you want something more. There is a 7-11 right in front of the lodge so it was convenient but also was kind of noisy at night. A front desk staff and maintenance person were so nice to us so I'd give this place 4 stars!

Some Good, Some Not So GoodMy wife and I, and our dog, spent two nights at the Lake Arrowhead Saddleback Inn in early September 2020. Every hotel has good things about it and not so good things about it. Thats very true about the Saddleback Inn. We stayed in one of the one-bedroom cabins during the Covid scare. The cabin is reasonably clean but it is OLD and in need of maintenance. I suppose a marketing person would call it rustic. The cabin consists of a sitting room with a fireplace, a bedroom and a bathroom. Theres a microwave and small refrigerator in the sitting room, along with a large screen TV that we didnt use. No coffee maker in the cabin. When we entered the cabin, it was hot and I tried to turn on the air conditioning didnt work. Called the desk and was told that theres no central A/C, just a small 120V unit in the bedroom. Turned it on but it is too small to cool the cabin. Then I connected to the Internet and it was slow. I ran a speed test and I got less than a half megabit down and a bit less than a quarter megabit up. Thats the slowest Internet access Ive ever encountered in a hotel. The bed was reasonably comfortable but only had a duvet for a cover. Without adequate air conditioning this is too hot of a cover for sleeping, forcing you to sleep on top of the duvet for comfort. A better approach would be a sheet and a blanket so that you could modulate your cover for sleeping. The bath consists of a big tub that you have to crawl into to take a shower. I really, really dislike tub showers I just dont see why they dont put a real shower in the bathroom. The towels were reasonably fluffy. The soap bars they provide are the smallest, thinnest soap bars Ive ever seen. The hot water in the bathroom is too hot. The safe temperature for hot water is 120 degrees F. the hot water in the bathroom is probably 150 degrees. I expect they do that because they have those goofy hot tubs in the bathroom and use standard tank water heaters. By making the water overly hot, the bather can fill the tub with adequately hot water because they will use less of the hot water. A much better approach would be to install tankless water heaters. This would provide an unlimited amount of safe 120 degree hot water. Breakfast consisted of a commercial cellophane wrapped sweet roll and coffee. No, Im not kidding thats really what they pass off for breakfast. You can walk to the Arrowhead Village and get breakfast after 9am. Which brings up the coffee. Theres no coffee maker in the room and coffee is not available in the office until 8am. Surely, they could get someone to put out coffee earlier, like 6 or 6:30 for us early risers. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and the food and service was good. I would recommend the restaurant. So the good things: The food in the restaurant was good and the room was clean. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to the Arrowhead Village. The not so good things: The cottage is OLD and needs maintenance, theres no central air conditioning, the Internet access is very slow. No coffee maker in the room. Really, no breakfast offered. The rate per night is high given the accommodations its definitely not luxury accommodations. And they had the nerve to charge a resort fee even though there are no resort features its just a way to charge a higher price than what they advertise. I dont know if there are better accommodations in Lake Arrowhead but I will look at other properties next time we visit Lake Arrowhead.

A good place to stay.I give the hotel 3.5 stars. I have mixed emotions about my stay. I have never stayed at a hotel like this. It is rustic with a cabin feeling. Inside the room, it feels like a hotel. It is a unique experience. I had to get my temperature taken to check in. Somehow, I had a slight fever, according to the thermometer. My temperature was taken again abd I was told that I just made it. I understand, it is covid times. The hotel is one block from Lake Arrowhead village. There are no sidewalks. You need to be careful walking there. The bed is comfortable. There are chairs and tables outside of the room. The room was very quiet. There is a refrigerator in the room. It is a nice view outside. The shower had poor water pressure. I had a difficult time getting my hair wet. I am short but never had this challenge before. The tub has a place to sit where I would normally stand to wash my hair. The bathtub is a whirlpool bath. I was looking forward to trying this. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to work it. When I did, I got squirted, in the air by water, on both sides. Three jets on each side squirted water in the air. It would happen routinely. It was just strange and not relaxing. I am assuming the tubs are quite old. My room opened at the bottom. This door locked. Then I had to walk up about 15 stairs. The strange thing is that the door to my room didn't lock. Sometimes the door would open. The door to the bathroom had a lock but not a lock on my room? This felt like a safety issue. Breakfast is from 8 -10. However, breakfast is coffee (or hot water with tea and hot chocolate packets) and a packaged pastry. I understand that it is covid times. Couldn't they put the coffee and pastries out earlier? It isn't a bad place to stay. The location is quite good. The hotel is expensive (and has resort fees) and I don't know if it's the luxurious place you might be expecting.

Cozy CabinsWe stayed 2 nights. The cabins had a cozy woodsy feel. The room was very basic and no frills, it was small but comfortable. The room was outdated but the heater worked well. Our cabin was in the front facing the main road and 7-11 parking lot so we had quite a bit of street noise. Due to covid continental breakfast was coffee, tea and plastic wrapped pastries. Good location and a short walk to the village.
