  Noisey at night

  Stayed for one night in November in room 4 which is on the second floor but above the side entrance door. We went to sleep around 2200 but were woken up at midnight by people banging doors then at 0100 by two people on the second floor coming back and talking loud in there room. Everytime someone comes in or out the side front door you can hear the door banging. I dont think the walls are that solid the bedroom doors dont appear to be that thick meaning the noise travels. In the morning again could hear people talking in their rooms and coughing. The room itself was comfortable a few things were worn with several wall tiles cracked in the bathroom around the window I dont know if this was because of movement in the building. The staff was friendly. Of note they take your card details upon arrival even if you have paid already in case there is an issue with your room so they can deduct money. There was lots of car park space at the rear. Personally I wont stay again because of the noise. Made the booking through booking.com but as it is a booking basic apparently you cant leave a review on their website.

  An outstanding simple hotel

  First time in High Wycombe. Easy to find. Very helpful advice from owner and colleague before arrival. Nice welcome. Basic, warm (on a cold night) , spotless single bedded room with good size en suite shower/wc at good value price. Good size car park and the best scambled egg in any hotel where l have stayed.

  Recommended!

  We stayed here when visiting a relative and were very pleased with this hotel. The room and ensuite were very clean and nicely presented. The breakfast was first class, freshly cooked and plenty of choices. We met 3 members of staff who were all polite and pleasant. Will definitely stay again.

  Great location

  Ive seen the reviews and I think it needs to be established this is a three star hotel and price for being smack bang in middle of Rye with a car park it will cost. So it was my birthday. Room was huge and had a balcony even though it overlooked car park what can they do about that. I could moan about shabby carpet, stains on wall, tired furniture but bed was clean as and most comfortable Ive ever slept on. Bathroom spotless. You cant turn tv on if you are in bed as control needs to be closer but again minor irritation. It was hot but great fan and you could open doors to balcony. Breakfast really attentive staff, good breakfast with great juice. Staff so lovely. So I look for bed, fabulous and breakfast really good. Despite cost at £185 for one night. I was happy and enjoyed my Birthday and flowers so thank you

  1 night Bed & Breakfast - promoting live music event

  I met three different hotel staff during my stay and they were all very friendly, polite and made a real effort to be helpful. The room was small but perfectly adequate. After a brief hiccup on arrival, the WiFi worked fine which, for me, is arguably more important than the room! The shower was easy to operate and to regulate temperature. Bed, bathroom, TV etc. all fine and the breakfast was pleasant. Possibly the only reason for not rating it excellent was that there was nowhere in the hotel to get a [soft] drink or snack so I had to remember to stock up before heading back from the event I was managing but it is a small hotel and very good value for money and I would happily recommend it to anyone staying overnight in the High Wycombe area.
