  Grateful for lovely accomodation right in town

  We travelled to Port Macquarie for the Port Macquarie Running Festival, and we were looking for something that was super close to the start line....well we couldnt get any closer! The room was lovely and spacious, super clean and our oceans view balcony room was in the perfectly located overlooking the pool and waterfront. We have decided that we will absolutely stay here again next time...very happy!

  Disappointing quality for the price

  Location was great, but the age and quality of the room furniture, the mini bar and bathroom was very disappointing. For over $300 per night for a Premium room - not worth the money. Rydges Sails is a much better alternative in the area.

  Great getaway

  This is our second visit in 6 months as we absolutely loved Port Macquarie and the location of Rydges. The best part of the room is the king bed!! So comfortable. The pool is also sensational! The restaurant was also delicious for breakfast & dinner.

  Don't stay if you want a couples getaway.

  Not only is the decor very dated, in general the whole room was in bad condition, paint peeling off door jams, furniture in poor condition, dirty upholstery, cobwebs etc. Our view from the room was a rooftop, rydges should at least put some plants or decoration to make is more appealing. We went to the bar to have some food on a Sunday where they refused us entry and said to come back in 30 min as they were fully booked, we could see that the bar wasn't even a quarter full, so we went to order in room dining, they're phone was disconnected. Parking is $15 per night with no unrestricted parking close by, weather was bad arriving and the parking was "sold out", there is no undercover check in area so we had to park across the road and unpack in pouring rain. Very disappointing for a short anniversary getaway. We stated it was our anniversary on our booking, most hotels would sort some small items for this occasion such as chocolates, or a cheap bottle of wine etc, this was definitely not communicated to reception or any staff. We are also members and have received much better services at other rydges. I'd also suggest rydges fix their branding to have a premium and budget brand, very inconsistent standards as a "rydges" some are 5 star quality, others 2 star.

  Needs Some Tender Loving Care

  I have stayed at this hotel on a regular basis and always found the experience good. This time however, the room we were allocated was not up to Rydges normal quality. Whilst clean, the furniture and amenities looked like they came from an op shop. The manager explained that they were intending to do a "re fit" but had been delayed by the virus. The virus seems to be a great way for all types of people to blame it for not doing things .... this when most hotels in the town are full. I will stay there again but feel that the "virus excuse" should not be used for not doing renovations.
