  Restaurant was excellent

  It is hard to find open restaurants in the Netherlands on Mondays, especially at lunchtime. The restaurant at this hotel was open, the food excellent and the service very good. Prices were better than expected. The asparagus soup was thick and creamy and the toasted sandwiches made on thick, multi-grained bread not often found in our experience.

  Very nice hotel

  We were three people on a family visit in Nijmegen. The room was big, the bathroom small, but sufficient. Very nice staff. Fine breakfast. The only thing to complaint about was a very cold night. The central heating was switched off at night and it was very cold outside too.

  Our Stay at the Rozenhof

  Each year my husband and myself travel out to Holland to take part in the Four Day Marches, and for two years running we have stayed at this hotel. This year the service was even better than the year before, which we did not think was possible. Natalia was our main host, and she was so kind and attentive to our every need. Nothing was too much trouble. The chef was amazing and catered for everyone's needs and provided us with some wonderful walking meals! The waitresses worked very hard and we're always polite and very pleasant. Elise, our very early breakfast host was on top form every morning, providing us with our breakfast and packed lunches. Diane looked after the administration, and organisation which was faultless. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and tidied every day. Not one negative thing to say, lovely, lovely hotel, and wonderful restaurant food, great friendly atmosphere and will definitely go back year after year. Tracy and Andy

  An okay stay

  The hotel is located on average of 3 km from the centre of the city. The room (suite 18) is located on the side of the building. The room has a bath and a shower directly in the bath which is rather inconvenient. No bath gel is provided neither is conditioner. The shampoo comes in small bags and smells good. The hygiene is good but the rooms could use an update. The television has only a few channels that actually give a nice picture and the others have a lot of static. The television is situated in a rather frustrating angle so you have to move a curtain. The WiFi is free and excellent. The rooms are located above and are not accessible for invalided persons. The smell of the restaurant can be rather nice when you like cooking smells. The food is excellent and is recommended. The service of the staff is very friendly.

  Dated and needs improvement

  This is an older hotel, and it shows in many places, from reception to your room and its lock. The decor seems unbalanced and the brown ribbed carpet is rather depressing. The room is small, which is certainly no problem at these budget prices, but to put a computer table in there as a desk, probably because they owner had it standing around somewhere is simply an insult to the traveller. The restaurant seemed updated. The food on the menu is modern and tasty, but my meat was still very cold inside in some places (clearly came from the cooler) so even there improvement is needed. But here certainly an A for effort! The hotel is not near the center of the city of Nijmegen, so you can expect some more peace and quiet and free parking. However, dont keep the window open as the cooling unit or generator makes a lot of noise. And lots of mosquitos. The free internet is horrible, if you manage to connect at all. It was practically useless. So, if you need just a clean bed at a low price, this is a fine place to stay. But if you need a bit more, think twice.
