  3-star hotel but 4-star quality rooms and service

  I found the Roza Vetrov in a search on Kayak for hotels in Sochi. Rather than booking through Kayak, I e-mailed the hotel directly and got a slightly lower rate without having even to give a credit card number. The booking process was efficient and helpful. Although this is a 3-star hotel, two things are 4-star quality - the rooms and the service, which in my opinion are the most important. I found the service to be consistently excellent, particularly the reception staff, restaurant staff and even the cleaning staff. One example of the outstanding service was late one night I left some small electronic equipment at a dark table outside by the pool. The next morning I asked at reception, who had already found, identified and labelled my lost property with my room number! Some of the staff speak good English, and those that don't at least make an effort to do so with a smile. The hotel very helpfully puts an iron and ironing board on the landing outside the rooms. The hotel seems quite new and the rooms are well designed, including plenty of power sockets in all the right places, good blackout curtains, very effective air conditioning and a small minibar-sized fridge. I should add that my very positive opinion of the rooms is based on a standard room with a balcony; many other rooms look even better judging from the photos on the hotel's web site. Breakfast is very good and plentiful, although it's best not to arrive just before 10am as some of the food runs out. The food at the hotel's Armenian restaurant is good and reasonably priced, and it is particularly pleasant to have lunch by the pool in the summer. The only small downside in my opinion is the location. To get to the centre of Sochi, the only practical way is a taxi (around 150 rubles) and these can have a long wait on a bad day, otherwise it means a considerable walk up a steep hill. On the way back from the centre, it's possible to get a number 38 marshrutka costing only 16 rubles to the top of the hill followed by an easy walk down the hill back to the hotel. Don't be fooled by the hotel's proximity to the sea; the road is blocked further down, although the hotel does have an arrangement to visit a private beach within walking distance for a fee.

  I wa sin soci to visit the russian riviera and to assist to some matches of teh World Cup..Soci beautiful place, elegant gardens and ordered beach...Very moden Olimpic Park...worth to visit it and beautiful beaches by the olimpic park...

  Amazing hotel!!!!

  We stay here for 5 days with my Mom, location is very good, they have their our parking! Staff are very polite and helpful! Room has everything what you may need, very big and comfortable. Breakfast is very good, a lot of choices and everything fresh. Downstairs they have very nice restaurant, food is delicious. Definitely will stay here again.
