You can't beat the view and ambience:)This was our 3rd trip back to stay at the Royale Takitumu Villas/Resort. The managers, Tim and Lucile and staff are wonderful. They have always made us feel at home, welcome and relaxed. The resort itself is small and cozy and so peaceful that you really do unwind and relax. You sometimes feel that you are the only ones on the beach. The lagoon is great, I do recommend water shoes in the lagoon. The pool area is great with the lovely waterfall next to it. The resort now has e-bikes for those that wish to explore the island on their own. The villas are serviced daily and the staff take great care.Twelve years ago on our first visit to Raro we fell in love with the people and their culture. They are so proud of their culture! Well RT, well done:)

Relaxing, great locationLovely location, so much better than being at Muri beach. Restaurants will collect and drop you back for dinner bookings. Great customer service from all staff and mgt. Nice slow pace holiday with lots of snorkling the lagoon right at front door. Anniversary holiday and we loved it.

A stunning, quiet slice of paradise in beautiful gardens on equisite beachThis boutique resort right on the best beach in Rarotonga is a fabulous place to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. The villas are tastefully decorated, immacutately maintained and have all you need to self cater if required. Lots of thoughtful touches - tasteful foot baths with fresh flower petals outside each villa, discreet clothes drying line, fresh fruit..... Some of the villas have stunning new bathrooms and the management told us the remaining villas will all have the bathrooms upgraded too. We stayed in one of the beachfront villas - they are all positioned so ensure privacy from one another. The garden villas also have views across the gorgeous gardens, through to the beach. The staff were welcoming and would do anything for us. The managers, Tim & Lucile are true professionals.

Paradise in the Middle of a PandemicMy wife and I spent five days at the Royale Takitumu, but unfortunately had to cut our visit short due to the coronavirus pandemic and border closures. However, in our brief and tumultuous time (caused by having to work through re-booking flights home as borders closed), we were able to enjoy the accommodations supplied by Tim and Lucille Meyer, the property managers. We stayed in suite 2, which was right on the beach. What an awesome way to relax, by being able to step out onto a sandy beach and turquoise blue water. The suite was well appointed and super comfortable. We especially enjoyed having our morning espresso with the coffee machine every morning, to the sound of the waves breaking on the reef and beach. The grounds of the resort are immaculate, and it is clear the staff and management take great pride in maintaining them daily. Kayaks, e-bikes and snorkelling equipment were all supplied by the resort, and we used each one. But probably the greatest thing about this resort, at least from our perspective, was the staff. The folks looking after the grounds and our suite always had a smile for us, something that was very comforting during some stressful days. And I am not sure how I can possibly express my appreciation for the way were treated by Tim and Lucille, who made sure we had to many complimentary internet vouchers, their office telephone for long distance calls to Canada and New Zealand, and just general support when we were needing it. We've stayed at a lot of resorts in our travels, but I have to say that the way we treated by the folks at the Royale Takitumu tops them all. We hope to be back there in the future to finish our visit to the Cook Islands.
