Peace of mindThe Royale Chulan Cherating Villa First time staying here. We were able to secure a booking at the very last minute. We've stayed in the 2 bedroom villa. The rooms are beautifully design & spacious. The view is just breathtaking. The view we got from the room was gorgeous! It was directly facing the beach and the sea, with a rattan table and some deck chairs to chill around. Very comfortable accommodation for our family of 5 (3 adults and 2 childrens). Not to mention the nice bathtub with jacuzzi and a huge balcony.. The room is just perfect. Our children loved the infinity pool, it has beautiful breathtaking scenery. The breakfast foods are good in taste, large portion (for 2 bedroom villa, they deliver the meal to the room due to MCO). Excellent service from the parking lot, taking buggy rides to the lobby and to the villas. Check in process with welcome drink was fast and was explained the entire map of the villa so you can easily get around. Worth every penny. Please booked through agoda or booking.com to enjoy a good deal. I would say, this is the nice place to clear our mind and spend quality time with family. We love it very much! Beautiful place to stay and will definitely come here again! Peace of mind

Huge secluded beach gateway, perfect for familiesA hidden gem in Cherating, not much crowd and the beach area is HUGE! perfect for families with kids who loves playing with sand (waters were a little rough due to monsoon season arriving). My family and I went there for a 1 night stay (stopover on our way to Dungun), and rented the 2 bedroom villa (+ Breakfast). The villas are situated on top of a small hill, so the scenery is beautiful, we could see the beach clearly from our balcony. There are not that many rooms, thus not that many visitors around the resort which made it quite quiet and calming. We were required to park at the parking lot and sit a buggy to get to the villas on the hill. Due to the pandemic, SOPs were tightly in place, means sanitize, wear masks, and no buffet breakfasts! The whole resort was small and cozy, so you can take a stroll and explore the area while you're there, though some roads are steep, so be careful. Rooms were huge and spacious but some things in the room could be better maintained (ie. curtain behind bathtub was broken, table in the smaller room was not properly maintained). Did i mention that the bathroom was HUGE! XD And the mattress was super comfy, had a great night sleep ^^ One downside was the quality of the food (breakfast was a little confusing to order, only one checklist sheet for 4pax), and we had dinner at the cafe which took quite a while due to renovation works at the main restaurant. Another downside is the responsiveness of the staff, we're not sure if they're understaffed or too busy, but it took quite a while for the receptionist to pick up the phone, or contact housekeeping for toiletries. One family we met during checkout had to wait a while for the buggy to arrive and started walking up the steep hill with their luggage and 2 small kids. Other than that, this place is overall a nice place for families to hang out and spend the weekend.

Great short getaway on the beachWe didn't know that Royale Chulan had a hotel in Cherating! Decided to book a night to try it out and we certainly did not regret it! I would highly recommend it for families with small kids especially as the property is situated in a deep bay so the water was very calm and shallow. Plus, the beach was very very very VERY LONG! This was perfect during the pandemic as everyone was very far apart from one another. We booked the 2 bedroom villa and it was pretty comfy and LARGE! The main room comes with a king bed with plenty of places to lounge around. There was a bench at the foot of the bed, an arm chair by the sliding door leading to the balcony, and another built in sofa by the window. Off the main room was a small bedroom with two single beds, a dresser + wardrobe. What surprised us, was the attached full bath with this twin room! We didn't know there was ANOTHER bathroom which made it very convenient. The main bathroom was LARGE and it came with a bathtub, a separate WC and walk in shower. Basic toiletries were all provided with towels. Something to take note is the area behind the washbasin, the finishing was really messy. It was pretty obvious as you can see its reflection on the mirror. The blinds behind the bathtub was quite moldy. The balcony was BIG and more SEATING! Awesome as there was a lounger, 2 outdoor chairs + table. Great as we had our breakfast in the room overlooking the beach. Our booking included complimentary breakfast and it was served in the room during the RMCO period. Some reviews said the food wasn't good but it was ok, not fantastic, but alright. The check in and out processes were smooth and quick. The shuttle came within 10-15 minutes which is understandable because many people were checking out. However, we faced issues when we tried to call housekeeping. Called quite a few times as we ran out of toilet papers. Took quite a while for it to come. I'd suggest to put at least one spare roll in each room. The ones we had were already half used so surely we would run out pretty soon. We had dinner in the hotel and it was alright. Not that great so I'd suggest driving out to eat. It wasn't up to the hotel's standard. We've stayed at the one in Penang and the food was great. The food took a while to arrive which the staff did inform us beforehand but there was only one table occupied so we didn't expect it be that long. Had a great stay nonetheless. Would visit again when we have the chance! Hopefully the management will look into these issues. Kudos to the landscaping team for maintaining the beautiful greens around the property :) Thanks you.

Pit StopThis has the most spectacular view thus far, its breathtaking and very tranquil....the only issue i had was the security and front desk coordination during check in, my name was in the list all the time and you guys missed it...to be cautious is good but you need to be thorough too.

JUST SUPERB!!!!I stayed at at the villas ocean suite just one night on my way back to Kuala Lumpur from a business trip during the MCO. A so-so service by the bell boy & at the restaurant, except for Hairi, who handled my registration excellently & wihout any fuss. I called them just barely 2 hours before my walk-in check-in (no booking since there was plenty of rooms during the MCO). Upon arriving, they have designated an ocean suit for me (since I was travelling alone) right next to the restaurant. The registration was super fast & Hairi was most corteous. The suite was so great - modern, clean & well equipped, and was par excellence compare to the more expensive old hotels at the eact cost region I experienced recently during the MCO. I was pleasently surprise. The glass wall of the suite opened up to the vastness of the Cherating beach. The view from the suite was commanding because the villas perched on a steep hill side overlooking to the beach bay. Mind you, this is one of the beaches which experience both sunrise & sunset. Nothing beats having a cuppa on the balcony of your room while enjoing the view of the beach during sunrise AND sunset. Even during MCO, the bundled breakfast spread (instead of the usual buffet styled) was huge for a person. This is even so compared to the others which I paid similary but got only measly 1 plate of dish and 1 drink. Ive travelled a lot (its the job) and I made a point to experince at least once at the popular hotels and resorts (the companys paying ). Experienced the world class 5-6 stars hotels & resorts. Royale Chulan Villa at Cherating exceeded my expetation. I hope the level of service & accommodation will not deteriorate but improve more after the MCO. Ill be coming back with the family for a longer stay.
