  Great family condotel in the heart of Medan

  Really enjoyed my stay in Royal Suite Condotel with my family. Location is perfect, walking distance to many food stall (some of them are popular in Medan), reasonable price, breakfast is good, room is spacious

  Dirty and cockroaches

  We stayed here from June 14 to 17. The room was full of small cockroaches. Two of my children fell sick. Not sure if it is due to the dirtiness. The staff at the cafe for breakfast were slow, lazy and dirty. The tables were not cleaned properly. The floor was dirty. Everywhere was dirty. Pls look at the photos attached and you will understand.

  Very dirty and run down

  We booked here to stay with a good friend who was getting married in Medan, we wanted a suite so we could all stay together before and after the wedding. When we arrived the check in was a little slow but we got our keys and went to the room. When we opened the door the smell was overwhelming it was a combination of cigarette smoke, damp and moth balls. The shower room in the main bathroom was full of mothballs and everything was very dirty. Everything was in a general state of disrepair (smashed mirror, broken chairs, wall paper peeling off, massive holes in the wall plastering at wall edges, peoples hair left on vanity and the sofa was full of holes and very dirty and stained) my friend was very unhappy and immediately asked to switch rooms. At first they tried to tell us that we didnt book a no smoking room so they couldnt change us but eventually found something. They went to check and decided to switch us. The second room was not as damaged as the first and didnt smell so bad. I decided to try and unpack a little bit couldnt because the wardrobe was completely broken and the doors would not move. It was getting late so we decided to shower quickly and go for dinner, the drain in the bathroom didnt work so the bathroom flooded but we managed with it. When we returned from dinner however we found the room full of tiny cockroaches and my friend was really upset. She called them straight away and they tried to put the blame on her saying they Knew this room had a cockroach problem and if we had not wanted to switch the other room would be fine. We all know if cockroaches are in one room they are in all rooms and their only solution was to send someone to spray the room. We did not want to stay in a room that had been freshly sprayed so we decided not to spend the night and move to another hotel. I would avoid this hotel unless you are the strictest of budgets for example the Marriott can be less than 2 times the price if booked in advance.

  Spacious modern deco apartment in town centre

  We booked a 3 bedroom apartment for 2 nights for 5 adults. The room is spacious with nice modern wallpaper deco. The Wifi is good though you need to sign in daily. There are ample car parking space. Staffs are helpful. It has everything needed in the unit if you like to cook. The location is good with most attractions are only 15-20 minutes drive away like Tjong A Fie mansion, Istana Maimun, Grand Mosque, Merdeka walk. Around the corner there are Coffee restaurants. The only negative is the check in and check out is extremely slow. The wallpaper is torn probably due to mopping and there are cockroaches in the unit. The breakfast has variety but the bad side is they stop replenishing at 9.00am whereas breakfast time is till 10.00am Overall the stay is still comfortable and suitable for family.

  Good place for family stay

  Booked a 2 room unit for my family trip. The place is clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff is very curteous and helpful. The breakfast spread is not as wide as expected, mainly consist of local cuisines. The lontong is nice(based on my wife). Good for family travel.
