Good hotel by any standard. By Siberian standards Class Leading

OK so you do not generally go to Nefteyugansk unless you are going there for work, but this place has good sized rooms (mine had a double wide shower stall rather than a bath, which suits me fine). The room heating can be best described as fierce (+26C inside -34C outside) but yo can open the window for a (short) time to control the temperature. The restaurant can take a while to deliver the food but when it comes it is excellent, the staff communicate well in Russian (of which I have none) German (schoolboy) and English (perfect for me). You really need to check out the Cigar room to believe it, the bars (lobby and 4th floor) are good and they can sort out most things that you need. (Laundry, taxi's, guides, translators). One hint is not to use the Minibar, call room service, you get larger sized drinks and weirdly it is cheaper. By Siberian Standards this is a very expensive hotel, but after being outside in the cold it is well worth it.

Wipe your feet before spending a million!

Its hard to share my experience being a one night only in this hotel, however, I have drew some impressions and conclusions. The furniture and settings of the hotel is extremely great, one could call it excessevely or ridiculously expensive. Chairs, walls, sofas, lights and carpets keep on reminding that you are staying at a luxurious place. The food is also something I enjoyed, the serving and quality is great, from starters to cocktails it is all magnificent - the plates with Royal Plaza decorations and logos, napkin holders, forks and glasses - all of the superior quality. Food itself tastes great, keep it up. Room was neat and clean, though small, the bed is comfortable and spacious, the bathroom - clean and gorgeous. However, due to over-estimation of their 'greatness' the hotel management seems to ignore some basic rules of hospitality. In the morning of checking out me and my spouse walked in the restaurant to get breakfast, it was 30 minutes before it closes - and we were met by a restaurant manager saying (literally) "Young people, we are actually closed". When I checked my watches, (so she did at the same time) she said 'Oh, in fact we are not, okay, come on in but next time don't be late'. That wasn't very welcoming considering the price for a night. I also understand the desire of management to limit the amount of irrelevant people in the hotel, but what they seem to end up with is pushing everybody around by suspiciously looking at appearance, behavior, shoes, manners and so forth, it is hard to say why but every time I visit this place I have a fleeting feeling of being evaluated constantly as if I could waste their beautiful carpets or chairs. While being surrounded by beautiful things and furniture, there is a non-leaving feeling of doing something inappropriate. Waiters and cleaning personnel are, however, great helpers in everything you will need. The same day I wanted to book a restaurant for another party and was said by restaurant manager to 'check the menu online' rather than being suggested an excursion around their facilities. I felt as I was just another bothering person, a hundreds of which they have to accommodate daily. Hard to say but there is something wrong in the way how they greet and take care of their lodgers and guests. In other regards this place is the only high-quality recreation premise of the town, in my opinion, and that is their root cause of their hospitality problem - the lack of competition seems to obscure the realty for hotel administration staff: 'You don't have anywhere else to go so behave in this gorgeous place properly, not you but other people will spend their money'.

    All the trimmings

Business in the region led me to the Royal Plaza hotel, and although there was not much choice locally it was actually a pleasant surprise to find such a good hotel in Nefteyugansk. It was -14 C outside but if I had a complaint it was that the room I was in was way too hot. I had to open the window to cool down. I guess it is better that way round. The room was extra large, and had all you could want, including free wifi and breakfast. The double glazing was soundproof, so a good nights sleep despite the jetlag. Restaurant upstairs was very good (value and quality) but in the morning we did experience an issue with the one working lift not wanting to stop at certain floors. This led to a huge queue at checkout once everyone got out of the lift (as the stairs were unaccessable for some reason). Luckily I was first in the queue but had to wait for my colleagues to check out anyway. Hotel is a bit over the top, but good value and I would certainly recommend it for business travellers.

Best in Nefteyugansk, but service was too slow

Stayed at Royal Plaza for 4 days 3 nights (23 - 26 August). Room exceeded expectation, given that the location is quite rural. However, the service at the 2nd floor cafe was too slow for 1 of the nights (dinner). Only 2 people (me and a colleague) at the restaurant, but it took them 2 hours to prepare fruit, appetizer, dessert, an drinks (yes! only 4 orders). So, you can imagine my frustration. Also, only 1 elevator was working, and there was no way we could use the stairs to go from 1 floor to another. Imagine the waiting time I had to bear during my stay there.

There was a very rude Aivar or Anvar security man, who stroke my friend to her face.

I stayed there tonight (31-May-2018). There was a very rude Aivar or Anvar security man, who was threaten to me and my friend. And he stroke my friend to her face. He called her "prostitute". I called the police, but there were no any independent witness. All Royal Park employees, including the Admin Musharraf Melibaeva, said that they didn't see any rude action or didn't hear any rude word from the security man. And they say to police that according Royal Park's rules the Administrator can evict from hotel whithout any explanation. Also, they said to police that my friend didn't provide a passport, but she provided it half an hour later they ask it. Anyway, the Security man throw back her passport and demand to evict the hotel.
