Royal House Hotel LuxorThe room we had was quite spacious with a separate sitting area however the bathroom smelt of septic, the air conditioner was to loud to even hear a conversation, the floor was dirty, the blankets stained and unfortunately the pool looked more like a swamp then a pool and was therefore not in use. The location was about 15 minutes walk to the markets and had some lovely dining options just next door. If you want quiet this hotel is not for you, there is some type of amusement park directly in front that is very noisy along with the constant honking of horns in every Egyptian hotel plus the noisy air conditioner.

Bring earplugs. And possibly your own towelAfter reading the great reviews, I was really expecting more. When I arrived reception barely said a word to me, just told me to wait. That was fine. However when I got into the room I noticed that the bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned. Dirty water spots were all over the walls and they had clean only a portion of the floor. The towel - you only get one, not even a bath mat or hand towel- was grey but smelled clean enough. All the linens were extremely threadbare but clean. I was there during December, but there was no way I was expecting it to be so cold at night. And the street outside is very loud until 11, and starts again by 5am. None of the reception were that friendly, it seemed like I was the only person in the hotel and my presence was bothering them. Breakfast was served in a box in the lobby. You get some bread and cheese, with your choice of drink. Could have been worse. I'm quite disappointed with my stay and hope that service is better in the warmer months. I will not be returning to this hotel.

Stay awayI am not sure where to begin. The filthy towels, the lack of soap, or the horrible breakfast where they did not even have milk for coffee. This was one of the worst hotels I have been to. Stay away! "Breakfast" is served in the basement on a styrofoam plate. The packaged cheese is expired and the eggs were not even hard boiled. The rooms were disgusting and there was barely any hot water. Stay away.
