    Entorno espectacular!

    Spent camping outside

We arrived around here after a long day of hiking on the west highland way. As camping around Loch Lomand is strictly regulated, and the next free camping zone was another 30 minutes walking (we were very tired and it was getting dark) we decided to ask in here if they had some place left. The camping spot was nice, but we felt like the price for camping outside was pretty high. I guess they know that when you ask them to camp on their grounds, you're desperate and willing to do pretty much anything to just stop walking and get to rest. The showers were quite dirty, but tbh, the warm water was a blessing anyways. We spent some hours in the lounge relaxing with some beer, having a nice chat with the other guests. All in all not a bad experience, though this probably had more to do with the location and the nice people we met in the lounge than with the actual hostel services.

    Amazing setting and beautiful building

My wife and I stayed here on the 2nd night of walking the West Highland Way. It was a beautiful sunny day and the place looked amazing upon our arrival. It's a beautiful building (from the outside) and the setting with the lawns leading down to Loch Lomond is amazing. We stayed in a double room which had great views overlooking the lawns and Loch. The room was small, but comfortable. We enjoyed a beer sitting on the lawn in the afternoon. The evening meal was OK, but nothing special. The showers were probably the biggest disappointment. They were very ordinary. I'm glad that we stayed because the reason that we travel overseas from Australia is to experience things that are not possible back home. Staying in a place like this ticks those boxes.

    Fantastic Hostel

We stayed here while hiking the west highland way. We thought the place was a fantastic value for money and really comfortable. Two of us stayed in a 4 bed room which was very spacious and had armchairs and a table. The staff were brilliant- we could tell they were ran off their feet but they never failed to smile and bend over backwards for us. All covid compliance seemed to be in place and we felt comfortable staying here. They are not currently offering fresh evening meals but were instead offered to order a frozen meal we could defrost in our microwave. They were amazing!! exactly what we needed after the day we'd had. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

    Great location

Very much enjoyed our stay here walking the West Highland Way, very close to path. Manger was very friendly and helpful. Covid-19 times - we had booked a double room and had a private shower and toilet. Watch out - no towels due to Covid-19. Hot bacon bap at breakfast, and packed lunches available.
