Good value simple Naha hotelThis is a great value business hotel in downtown Naha. I stayed here in transit between various islands around Okinawa, and found it great for this purpose. There were x3 computers in the foyer with free internet access as well as a LAN cable in the room with fast internet access. Vending machines and laundry machines are on every 3rd floor which is very handy. You'll need to catch a taxi or bus to get to the main shopping strip, but it's walking distance to the city beach. The rooms are typically small as with most Japanese hotels, but the bathroom in particular was the smallest I've experienced, but it serves its purpose.

Average hotel; below-average rooms and locationWe stayed at the Route Inn for 1 night before our flight home from Okinawa. The location is very convenient for Okinawa Port, a taxi cost us 800 Yen. The hotel lobby is cool and attractive, and the staff checked us in quickly. There are 3 computers with free internet which was very useful. Our room was very clean but unfortunately very small. Having lived in Japan for about a year I'm aware that hotel rooms are generally smaller than Western visitors would expect, however the size of the room was not consistent with the hotel's price! There was nowhere for us to put our suitcases apart from at the foot of the bed, no bedside table, ugly green decor and a funny smell. The bathroom in particular was very tiny, with a cloakroom toilet that has to be sat on sideways. The shower is over the bath which makes the bathroom feel even more claustrophobic. The final aspect which made our stay less than ideal was location. It's 10 minutes to Asahibashi, the nearest monorail station, and about 20 to International Street. In the Okinawa heat, pulling your suitcase, this is not great! Apart from the disappointing rooms and location the hotel was fine, with surprisingly comfy beds, good aircon and a decent breakfast. It's just a shame we felt like we could have had a better hotel for the same price.

MarketStayed in the Hotel Route Inn Naha in early July. There isn't a lot right around the hotel except for a supermarket that is used by a lot of the locals. If you're looking for Okinawan Awamori and some other foods for things to take back home then the shopping is a lot cheaper than the main area of Kokusai dori. You need to walk towards the monorail station in order to find restaurants to eat at. There is a lot of local places to go to but they don't understand a lot of English. The parking is pretty cool. There are about 3 stalls in front of the hotel but there is a conveyor type parking that is at the side of the hotel. The rental car needs to be of the mid to smaller size as there is a height and width limitation. While I was there they were renovating the upper floors so there were times that I couldn't park when I returned early. I was very surprised to find that they gave a free breakfast to all guests. The selection is limited but hey, I wasn't expecting this so it was a bonus.

Great ExperienceI spent there just 4 nights. I had included breakfast consisting in a diverse menu. There were both standard japanese dishes and european ones. The room eas perfect. They give me towels, toothpaste and toothbrush, shampoo and other soaps. The service was perfect and the price was more than fair. I strongly recommend this hotel.
