  Nice Relaxing Hotel

  A nice onsen hotel about 15-20 minute walk from the train station. Taxis can be sparse so be prepared to walk. We managed to book a room with twin beds with breakfast included. Facilities were very adequate including WIFI in the room. There are separate female and male onsens with keyed lockers and vanity. Hotspring bath temperature is about 40-41C. There's a fridge and air purifier in the room. Microwave is in the lobby only. Also a trouser press next to the elevator on each floor. A nice touch is complimentary Doutor coffee machine & English newspaper in the lobby although staff English is very limited. There's Ito Yokado dept. store and market a short walk from the hotel. Turn right from the hotel, cross at the cross walk, then straight along pathway then turn right at the car exit sign. Two blocks to the left is Lawson's 24/7 convenience store. The mainly Japanese buffet (limited Western items) breakfast was very acceptable.

  Just fine for what it is

  Walkable from Minami Matsumoto Station, but access is a bit problematic as trains run to/from this station infrequently and taxis (¥700) are hard to find. Taxis from the main, Matsumoto, station are ¥1,200 and quite abundant. A bit higher to return if you pre-order the night before. Typical business hotel, little English spoken, but caring, polite service. Breakfast better than expected. A big Ito Yokado (Japanese Walmart/Target/Tesco type store) is within sight, maybe a 4-minute walk away. Otherwise, rather isolated location. Taxi to Matsumoto Castle less roughly ¥1,700.

  If you stay, avoid the second floor!

  Stayed here in June with a tour group. Given a room on second floor. Unbelievable stench of stale cigarettes and smoke in hallway and even stronger in room. another couple complained and were shifted to 5th floor. They said room was much better. This not available to any more of us who were stuck on this obviously smoking floor. Room spray just didn't cut it management. Room also very, very small. Would I stay here again.... definately not!

  CRAMPED ROOMS

  A place to sleep only for one night. Room is small and adequate. Bed is comfy and shower is good. All the usual amenities. Only has one lift to service 7 floors. Some of the guests complained about smoke filled rooms with little ventolation. The area around has a shopping mall and a few restaurants. Tried the barbeque across the road and loved the experience. Would I chose to stay here again, definately not.
