Great conference in historical settingsRosersberg Castle is probably the only Royal Castle in Sweden (perhaps the world) in which a private person can stay. Being built in 1634 the and untouched since 1860, the authentic royal milieu is intact. Add to that a great kitchen with a French touch and modern meeting facilities, you should be well set for your meeting or conference.

Really horribleI arrived late one afternoon, really sick, and was checked in without any level of hospitality or interest. I was not told anything about the services or the facilities of the hotel - Just handed my room key and pointed in the direction of another building and pushed on my way. 20 mins later without being able to find my room and wandering around buildings in the middle of winter, I went back to reception to ask for help with my bags and to find the room. I was told nothing was possible but I could try and wait. I did wait but no-one came. Eventually I was able to find my room which was in a bunker about ten minutes away from the main building. A 1950s concrete outhouse which looks nothing like the pics in the quite lovely looking website - be careful which room you book is the lesson here. The hotel was full of a super loud Swedish work conference - I imagine that it is mainly used for conferencing - so dinner was hugely stressful due to the screaming and shouting of this group. Overall its a pretty grim place - the service at dinner was really nice, but besides that people are so rude, that I dont even think its intentional. Make sure youre staying in the main building as the outhouses are like a prison - cold and far away. Dont stay here if you are disabled, old, or need any form of assistance as none will be forthcoming.

"Weekend" in the middle of the weekExcellent hotel , with beautilful park to walk in, by the lake Mälaren. Very comfortable and quiet room and excellent dinner dining/breakfast. They had also taken very good safety arrangements due to the corona pandemic, with lots of space between the tables in the restaurant and maximum 5 persons at a time in the brekfast buffet. We felt very secure! Friendly and helpfull staff! Really recommend a stay here, in one of the 10 Royal castles in Sweden.

StaycationExcellent food, beautiful nature and dog friendly hotel. We had a superior room and it was worth it. Good gym, spacious sauna. Remember to book a table in the restaurant and if you don't eat meat, inform the restaurant in advance. We took the regional train, it's a 2km walk from the station to the castle. This is not an easy access place!

Wonderful staycation in safe environmentWe had such a lovely time at our Staycation. Apart from the check-in, we didn't meet any people as all meals were delivered to the room. The surroundings are beautiful and we had two long walks in the snowy surroundings. The service has been great, very thoughtful and friendly. We were wondering if they'd be able to replicate a good dining experience but the food was truly excellent, our fish and meat were cooked perfectly. In the morning they delivered a breakfast bag, of course it's hard to replicate a breakfast buffet, but the coffee was nice & hot in individual thermoses and included eggs, sandwiches etc. We had told them our food preferences beforehand. Overall an excellent weekend that I would recommend. It's a great way to get a change of scenery in a "safe" way while still supporting our local businesses.
