  Peace and quiet in Sylhet

  Located outside the main city, I was very pleasantly surprised to find a hotel with such good standards. Seamless check-in aided by the conference organisers. We were welcomed with rather sugary drinks! The room was rather large. Hot water and air conditioning were spot on. Complimentary fruits were very welcome. Room was clean as were the linen and towels. Toiletries were provided. There was an extra toilet but it would have been helpful if a small sink had been provided. There were tea/ coffee making facilities but no milk. Request for some milk produced more sugar! Breakfast had both western and local dishes on offer. We had buffet dinner, which was average. The choice was adequate. I really appreciated the availability of tea/coffee at all mealtimes. Very pleasant stay. Would definitely stay again!

  NEVER AGAIN - please dont waste your money

  Having had several days in pretty rough hotels I decided to treat myself to a night at a 5 star hotel. The price was indeed 5 star at $150 US per night for standard room. My logic was that with most hotels charging $20-50 per night, to charge $150, well, it must be good. HOW WRONG I WAS! The bathroom with literally filthy and I dont mean it hadnt been cleaned. I mean the sort of grained in stained dirt that cant be cleaned. So dirty that I would not have used the shower (see photo of shower curtain and plug below) However i didnt get that far as when I turned on the tap, the water was brown (see photo). I left it running for 10 minutes thinking it might just be in the pipes but it still ran brown - oh...and the hot water also ran out The beds (twin room) had no mattress at all. Just the divan base. Rock solid - no mattress I complained about the water and the bed and they sent a kind member of staff who told me that it had been like this for years, that so many customers complained but that the owners didnt care. They brought me a mattress after which the bed was tolerable. Being January the room was very cold but when I turned on the heater it only blew out cold air (which had a damp stale smell). I complained and was told the trim didnt have heat! Frustrated tired and hungry, I called room service (menu in the room with full range of foods) and was told that nothing on the menu was available except a sandwich, a burger or curry. I ordered the burger which wasnt bad but I had to pay in cash and 20% more than the advertised price. The breakfast was average, perhaps acceptable for a 3 star hotel but when I took a small bottle of water with me, I was told by the staff that this wasnt permitted. $150 US per night but you cant take a 20c bottle of water with you. For me, that summed up the attitude of the management. Get as much as you can from the customer and give as little back as possible. This was almost certainly a great hotel at some point in the past. Its interior design and layout are striking and the room sizes are good. But no money had been spent here for a long long time and the management do not care When I return I will stay in one of the cheaper hotels where I will get what I expect and pay for.

  Nice and Economical Hotel

  Nice economical Hotel providing good spacious inexpensive rooms, with variety of food options. I liked the lobby level to various rooms levels tube escalators, and the view of lobby from the higher floors. Staff is very courteous and helpful. I got stuck outside my room due to double lock feature in the door(I wasnt aware). Staff promptly brought a physical key for the door lock to unlock. Indian food options are available at pretty reasonable price. Hotel also provides pickup and drop facility for Airport, although quality of car(no seat belt for passengers, non reclining stiff seats) and driver/driving(rough driving) not worthy for the charges(2100 Taka one side).

  Very nice popular hotel in terms heart of the city food & service both was good nice dining area buffet style food lot of choices will be visiting when next in Sylhet with family Thank you for looking after us!

  A good spot for business travelers!

  My colleagues and I are frequenly in Sylhet on business travel and the Rose View is our go-to hotel. The staff are extremely friendly/professional and the rooms are simple, but in good shape and very clean. A buffet breakfast is included and they also have buffet/restaurant options for dinner, as well as room service. Recommend considering the Rose View for your stay in Sylhet!
