  Booking from QLD was not sure what I was booking , but!

  I have stayed in plenty of hotels (pubs) around Australia, mostly being historic single bedroom with shared bathroom facilities, this is not one of your typical pub rooms, it looks like it has been tasteful converted a traditional country pub room into a compact little motel room. I take my hat of to them, they have squeezed in a small shower and toilet but I would rather that then trudged down the corridor whenever I needed a pee. Value for money I believe is excellent, the bed is comfortable plenty f pillows (4 large one) just wish there was two hard and two soft, I felt I was sleeping in a marshmallow ! Yes in not on. Security here is really good, the area is a known hot spot, I found it save to walk around , sit in the bar and even have a really nice steak. You swipe a cad to get past the security door and another at your room, pretty darn for a pub! My only issue is the air con was not adjustable, the remote failed to make any changes and I simply had to manually turn it in and live with the affect, cool but not cool enough. If you go the pub downstairs the staff are fantastic, really made this stranger feel like a local, I had some good chats. What I find most impressive was I got back late, had not eaten while I was on the phone they identified me as possibly wanting a feed and ask me if I wanted dinner because they were closing, how good is that, most places would have said tough he is on his phone so he misses out, well done ladies, you completed a hard day. There was also a great coffee had in the morning downstairs !

  Very disappointing

  - Additional bed we had requested and paid for was not in the room when we arrived, we had to go ask for it. - VERY bad smell in the room, which we eventually realised was due to the carpet outside the bathroom being soaked. - Shower head would not stay up, meaning that we could not use the shower at all. Fortunately, family members were also staying there and we went to their rooms for showers.

  Average hotel, far from everything

  The hotel is in Elizabeth, about 30 minute drive from Adelaide. The suite we rented was nice and clean, although only one small shower and toilet for the whole family. There is a shopping mall close to the hotel but only fast food can be found nearby. A better meal required a 20-30 minute drive.

  Quite impressed

  I must admit, I was a bit worried about vehicle security before I booked, but a quick 'phone call alleviated most of that, and I definitely didn't have any problems whilst there at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making me feel very welcome. The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. I had to have more than a bloke's look for the towels ... but I am a bloke! Yes, the bathroom is small, but it did the job very well. If I need to stay in this part of Adelaide again, this will be it, no probs.

  Meals from hell

  Price is $15. Dont order steak! I asked for medium rare twice and got both orders well done. Terrible food never going there again. Photos show u the meal only had one byte. Food for the small people
