  Satisfactory for overnight rest

  Tip: call them and book directly, they will match any third party booking company and this gives you more flexibility. And pay cash to save (so the sign at reception says). This motel suited our purposes. We checked in at 8:30 pm after a long drive. The room was neat and the facilities all worked. Our bed was firm and pillows were just right. Air conditioner was working well and there were several ways to lock the door including a security door Was the bathroom modern? No. Did the room smell a little musty to begin with? Yes. Not the Hilton but really not that bad for under $160 for a family!

  Saturday Night in Benalla

  Traveled to Benalla to start a silo art trail trip. Read the reviews on the Rose City Motor Inn, and despite being on a rounder-about decided to stay there anyway. I had a selection of a standard room or premium room. Chose the premium for an extra $10. Apparently the premium have a better bed, larger tv. This was a good choice. The room was a good size with a large shower, and plenty of power outlets between power points and power boards. In reception on the counter was a notice that if paying by mastercard, visa and I think amex, there is a 1.55% surcharge. When actually paying this was pointed out as well, so no surprise on a slight price difference. The bed was very comfortable and on a Saturday night only heard a few vehicles at the round about and two of them sounded like Harley Motorcycles with loud exhausts. I noticed there was a pool and picnic shelter on the grounds, I never actually checked them out. Probably an older motel but well refurbished and painted. It is about 2 kilometres from the town centre, but a nice drive past the Rose Garden and Botanical Gardens.

  Can't fault

  I checked bookings.com but after previous issues did not want to book through them and working in tourism decided to call myself. The guy who is owner was friendly so that got me to start with he offered premium room for same price as budget online. When we arrived I thought it looks little run down and the driveway was bit awkward BUT honestly from start to finish was great. The gentleman who checked us in came to room with us to make sure we where happy with everything. The room was very clean nice toilet bathroom with heater lights. Tv large and heater in room was good. Little bar fridge table chairs. Perfect for sleeping after long drive friendly owners reasonably priced. Good all round and happy and would reccomend to everyone.

  Inexpensive

  This is budget accommodation done well!!! They cater for single travellers offering a reasonable rate on the room. The service I received was friendly and professional. The motel itself is easy to locate as you enter Benalla from the Melbourne direction. There are beautiful rose gardens to wander around and enjoy. Clearly Covid is affecting the businesses in this area as the motel was quiet. There is a BBQ area outside near the pool that is very beautifully done, however, there is only room for four ( One family at a time). The swimming pool had not been cleaned, but that's completely understandable...why would you clean it if you have no customers. But moving on... the room is very basic and very clean. It has everything you will need for an overnight stay. The value is very good and while the bed is fairly average ... I still managed to get a reasonable night's sleep. I would highly recommend this motor inn to the budget traveller.

  Perfect overnighter

  Cant do much better for price for an overnighter to break up the Vic to NSW trip. Fair enough it doesnt look like your fancy hotel or motel but the room is big enough, looks, smells and feels very clean, it has a good size TV, a mini bar fridge, a bathroom and dressing counter that is a decent size with everything working and soaps, shampoos and toilet roll well stocked and cleaned and sanitised A1. Best of all the bed was ultra comfy and pillows were too, I slept like a baby. Obvious pride taken to make the room above average. Hats off to the management. Will certainly stay here again for future Vic NSW treks.
