  The staff and the food were fantastic

  The premises do not look much from the outside, but the place is old with oak beams in the rooms. It was spotlessly clean and in a good location. The evening meal was reasonably priced and came to 3 courses for under £15. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

  After staying here twice before a long time ago I was looking forward to a lovely meal and great room .. unfortunately the room smelled dank, bulb out in wall light, bedside lamp not working .. went to make a cup of coffee and the upturned clean cup had dried coffee on the rim and on the saucer ... not put off because we sometimes look back with rose tinted specs dont we ... headed down for our evening meal I had requested a table in the quieter space but we were taken to the larger very noisy room ... I explained to the waiter and was shown to the quieter table ... ordered the monk fish special at nearly £20 came with mussels not cleaned full of beard , obviously frozen prawns and monk fish that was poor to say the least .. sent it back to be told its very popular!! Well Im used to good food and definitely wasnt good .. the ambience and staff are great and this is why people go back again and again

  Fab!

  We visited for a works Christmas meal as a large party. We pre ordered the food and it was delicious, the wine selection was very good and the staff were absolutely fantastic! Will definitely be returning with family.

  Poor customer service let them down

  Fairly basic double room above the bar area. Bed very comfortable, shower room modern , nice selection of tea and coffee. Breakfast was good quality. Everything was clean. We went to have showers in the morning only to find there was no hot water. We asked about this when we went down to breakfast to see if anyone could sort it and then again at the end of breakfast but nothing was done. As we checked out we said again that there had been no hot water and was there a problem. The staff member said Oh thats not good, probably low pressure Clearly it wasnt their fault but perhaps they could have been a little more proactive .Fortunately we werent going anywhere special that day. Not sure I would return despite it being an ok place to stay apart from this issue.

  Perfect place to stay

  Not really enjoyed previous visits to Loughborough as a town as always there to see son at uni. Then we stayed here and it has changed my opinion as its in a lovely area opposite the church in a quaint and character building. The room was really large and beautifully fitted. Bed was so comfy and en suite good too. Ran by a lovely italian who was charming and enthusiastic. Brilliant and huge English breakfast with fab coffee finished off the stay perfectly. Would def return if back in Loughborough. Stay here!
