  OK accommodation but ridiculously priced

  You want to visit Astrid Lindgren's world, so you'll need somewhere to stay. I guess everything on offer in Vimmerby is over-priced, and Hotel Ronja is no exception. It is situated in an industrial area, albeit centrally located, and actually seems to be a converted factory. The exterior leaves a lot to ask for but the interior, at least in the part that we stayed in, was a whole lot better; boring but modern and functional. The room was spacey and clean. For a night or two I think it would do for most families. The breakfast buffet comes nowhere near regular hotel breakfasts in Sweden, but it has the necessities. You won't have to starve. But the price. In mid-July, peak season, the nightly rate was well above that of many four and five star hotels in Europe's big cities. It is market driven, of course, so I guess that off-season it would only cost a fraction of what we had to pay.

  Perfect Stay

  Recently stayed here with a large group. At first glance was not sure what to think. Looks like a converted warehouse. Was greatly surprised though when we got into our apartment suite. It has everything you could want. Room was very spacious with an open floor plan and a loft. So in total the suite slept 4 very very well. We had food prepared for our group and the meal was beyond excellent. Actually only downside for us was that the walls were thin and the suite next to ours had a loud party on the go so we shared in their dance music! Not sure what summer rates are like but for sure this was a very reasonable price for everything for us. Would for sure stay here again.

  Good rooms, but bad otherwise

  We where here as a big family. The room fitted us very well and after a good visit at Astrid Lindgrens Värld, we had a good nights sleep, even if we woke up quite early by the train just outside. This was the good part. The hotel feels like a construction site and it is like the hotel rooms (that look ok inside) are built in an old warehouse of some sort, and keeps getting built. The rooms are clean themselves, but nobody seems to take care of cleaning during the day (like picking up garbage in the corridors) and the outside. The breakfast buffé had a good selection of food. However, the food was not at all fresh. It felt and looked like it had been from days before and just went back and forth from the restaurant kitchen. If you are in the need of a big room, this may be an option. If not, I would definitely pick an other place to stay. Hotel is quite close to Astrid Lindgrens Värld.

  Mediocre

  Easy accesible and good parking. Pretty worn down place that could do with a makeover. Service was rather poor and breakfast was average at best. The rom was ok and clean enough, although not very accesible.

  The worst Hotel ever in Sweden

  We (Familiy with one Child) booked this Hotel over a Travel Agency as part of a round Trip through Sweden. Please avoid booking this Hotel, its the worst we have ever stayed in. No closet, the room had a view to a Mini-Golf facility. The third bed for the child was unusable so that our daughter had to sleep in our bed. Very noisy (loud music from below) and the hotel has an atmosphere that you could call creepy. This hotel is a mess.
