    Not bad

    Lo elegimos para pasar dos noches antes de seguir nuestro camino por las rockies. No es nada del otro mundo pero por lo menos está bastante limpio. Perfecto para dormir de paso hacia otro lugar. Es tranquilo y acogedor.

    Buena opción

    Elegimos este hotel por los precios descabellados de Banff en temporada alta. Pasamos 3 noches. La atención en la recepción es excelente. La habitaciones son amplias, algo oscuras y antiguas. Tienen refrigerador y microondas. Baños s/p. A una pareja que venía con nosotros no le limpiaron la habitación un día. Se habló y dieron toallas por lo menos. Aparte de eso, todo muy bien.

    One Night Stay OK

    This was an expensive stay but there isn't much else to choose from in this price range in Golden. We had an upstairs room which definitely showed its age..........chipped sink, old furniture.................no toiletries except for bar soap and coffee was instant with a tea kettle. The room was clean and the WiFi worked great. The view of the mountains in the distance was lovely. Experienced an accounting problem and Kathy from the office was helpful. One night here was OK.

    Best bang for your buck compared to others

    This hotel has recently gone through some much needed renovations, and I personally think they are in a whole new class now. Not only is this hotel my cheap default for a quick night, but now it beats out most other options nearby. The hotel has all new queen beds now, all new hardwood flooring, new TV's, new furniture in most, and new-ish white sheets. My room had a fridge and a microwave. The location is great because it's within walking distance to a few top restaurants. The customer service is great. To make this place perfect, it would be nice to see them get rid of the tub set up, better shower-head, and offer a coffee machine, but seriously, for the price, they are already over-delivering. Heck, they even have an indoor hot tub that is worth a soak after a day of skiing.

    The place is a dump, customer service nonexistent, don't bother

    Travelled during the Covid period to do a ski trip in Banff, and stopped to visit family in Golden. Booked the Rondo as i always do and have for years. Location is close to my family's place, and generally it's good enough. But, it appears there is new ownership there. Wifi didn't work worth a damn (although advertised and requested), room was about 40 degrees (f) upon arrival, and the heat didn't work so well. But when we arrived, we dumped our bags, and said hi to the grandkids for a short hello. When we came back, room was still cold, and found the internet sucked. Oh well, we had a few hours before leaving so we left it alone. We did the night and travelled on our way. Fast forward to the second ski trip with my grandkids. I like to support the local businesses even in these trying times, so i pre-booked the room from the 23rd to 27th. Between the 5th and the 23rd, alberta shut down, and the grandkids could not travel. During the hecticness of the holiday season, i forget to cancel the reservation. (Keep in mind when i stayed there, i was the only room rented it appears). Dec. 27 i see a $345.00 charge on my card. I call the desk, and the man (who cannot speak english - turns out to be the owner/manager from discussion), tells me "call expedia". I phone expedia. Expedia calls motel. Expedia says "nobody answering". Expedia tries again (keep in mind this is Dec. 27). Man answers, says have me call motel. I call motel, motel says to call Joy (some management consultant or something). I call Joy. Joy speaks to manager. Joy says they are willing to refund the amount. I say great. Days go by. No refund. Call again to motel. They tell me call Expedia. I call Expedia, they say call Rondo. This runaround goes on until Jan. 10th. Call expedia. Expedia calls motel. Manager actually hung up on expedia. Expedia tries again (i'm on hold during all this). Expedia says "the manager will think about it". By now, i'm at wits end. Can't get a straight answer, manager (who makes the decision cannot speak english for a clear communication), tells expedia "they will let us know". I've heard this from them before (I'll call you back but no call). I contact motel, and tell them i've been a loyal customer for years. Seems they don't care, so i say, Tripadvisor and other media sites will hear about this. They proceed to blame me for their lack of any redress (after i attempt to communicate for almost three weeks). Well, i tried to support a local business, but as you can see, lack of communication, taking $ without discussion or "sorting things out", or anything over a two-three week period, they accuse me of a bad experience review. So be it. The Rondo used to be a decent, affordable place to crash and go. Not anymore. Read the other reviews of this dump - there are other dump motels in Golden. Stay there - at least they are willing and able to discuss concerns without ignoring phone calls, hang-up calls, and just utterly brutal customer service to a loyal guest. See ya Rondo. Good luck in this small mountain town.
