  Fantastic place to stay

  Stayed in a Superior family room which was quite spacious. It was at the front overlooking the street but was quiet at night (Rothenburg is quiet at night). The goods: - Breakfast was very good each morning Good selection of cold and bread, and could get eggs cooked - Dinner is excellent. I recommend you have dinner here at least once - Location is wonderful Within the walls, near the market place, easily walkable from the station The bads: - Pillows. I hate soft pillows and there were no alternatives If they had some foam pillows or something then you would be hard pressed to find anything wrong.

  great location and friendly people

  I stayed in one of the superior rooms and must say that the room and bathroom was bit elder but very nicely and cleanly maintained. The building is a very old building but very nice. The people were very friendly, greeted me with my name and tried to accommodate everything. Breakfast was great. Everything fresh, big portions and if you asked for anything immediately will be done. The location is fabulous for exploring Rothenburg, as well as also the surrounding towns and villages. I will definitely come back and stay there again.

  Overnight Trip with sight seeing

  The hotel is in the middle of the historic city center of Rothenburg, and has all the ingrediences one expects of a building that has been at this place for god knows how many years. We were shown a couple of different rooms, all of different design, before we decided on a room with a 200 year old bed. Even if dinner and breakfast was rather avarage, we would not hesitate to chose the hotel for another stay. Parking was further down the street, but that was not a problem at all. The staff was friendly and provided good service.

  One of the best stays of our entire trip

  This was one of many stops we made on our 2 week trip through Amsterdam, Bavaria, and Austria and of all the hotels we stayed in, this was one of the best stays we had. We booked the Deluxe Family Room. It was very newly remodeled and extremely spacious. The shower was so refreshing (with heated floors) and the mirror actually provided excellent lighting for doing my hair and makeup. Despite our modern room, the rest of the hotels ambiance was quintessentially quaint and exactly what I had hoped for in a small Bavarian village. Valet was very easy to use and the front staff were incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The front desk attendant recommended the Night Watchman tour after dinner and it was just the most fun. Our stay in this village would not have been the same had she not recommended this tour! What really sealed the deal was their dinner. We booked dinner here because it seemed most convenient. It was dead silent when we arrived despite being completely full (could really stand to have some ambiance music or something). However, the duck breast sautéed in honey balsamic butter was the best meal we had the entire trip! I mean Im writing this review almost 7 months later and I am still salivating over this meal. We were only in RodT for the night so I cant say how it compares to other restaurants there, but I can say you will not be disappointed with this meal. Overall, I couldnt say enough good things about this hotel and we will most certainly be back to stay!

  A good choice in the centre of Rothenburg.

  This hotel is perfectly in line with the style of the city. It is very well located, in a historical building. The room we were given was ample and decorated with taste. Don't expect fancy new equipment though. Everything in the room is quite dated, from the faucets, to the bathtub, to the key of the room, to the shape of the bed frame, the pillows, the windows etc. Also, there is not so much space for toiletries around the sink. But it is actually all in style with the surrounding city, so it doesn't really bother. The room was quiet as we had requested. Don't expect an elevator, but in any case they help you promptly with the luggage. The parking was on a road beside the hotel. It was uncovered and sort of public (not fenced). They tend to insist on valet parking, which is something I personally do not feel comfortable with, so I insisted to park the car myself; as  a result they direct me to a parking lot, which apparently is not the one they normally use for the guests. In any case nothing happened to the car.  We had dinner in the hotel and the food was good. Breakfast was also in order and staff are cordial.  Overall a good choice for a short stay in Rothenburg.
