  World class weekend in Scheelehof

  We stayed here over the weekend. The first impression of our room- wow. Sitting for the incredible breakfast - outstanding! Book including that is a high value for the money. Dinner with a cold beer from local famous brewery is at the same quality level. Everything is located right in the middle of the town. Park your car in the parking lot ( 10 EUR per day). Walking distance to all highlights is 5 minutes through a beautiful historic old town or a delightful sunset in the harbor area.

  A totally FANTASTIC HOTEL EXPERIENCE- FIVE STAR level with Family Soul.

  We stayed 5 nigths at Hotel Scheelehof. The hotel is a number of old houses that has been geniously, carefully and historically respectfully renovated. The rooms are large and well designed. All clean as a whistle. In the cellar a Wellness center. There is bar, a Coffee Shop and a beautifully designed restaurant with ample space. Location is excellent just at the City Square. Parking is a peace of cake as there is a large parking house just at the rear entrance of the Hotel. From the moment we arrived everyone of the staff was so kind and helpful. The room was excellent. Quite expect from the wonderful Church bells. The RESTAURANT was simply MARVELLOUS. The food was extraordinarily good - consistently. The waitresses just a wonder team!. Breakfast OUTSTANDING!. Truly recommendable. A BIG Thank You to all staff that made our stay so wonderful:).

  Very good hotel

  We stayed four nights to visit Hansestadt Stralsund and the Rugen and Usedom Islands. We chose this four star superior hotel based on favorable reviews on Tripadvisor. The location is excellent in the old town, a short walk from Alter Markt (The old Market) and the harbor with the Ozeanum. The city area is great for walking and car traffic limited, so in spite of the location it is a quiet place. Good parking is available at EUR 10 per day in the Parkhaus am Hafen, which is located right outside the rear entrance of the hotel. Part of the hotel dates back to the 14th century, other parts are newer. Both the exterior and the interior have been carefully restored and the hotel also has a lovely courtyard, very nice for breakfast or dinner, weather permitting. Wellness offers are available too. Rooms seemed to be quite different, but ours was spacious, clean and quiet. The bathroom was a bit cramped, probably due to the limitations of the structure itself. This may also explain the lack of a/c, but fortunately windows to the courtyard could be opened. We found most of the expected amenities, except coffee making equipment. Also, we noted a few flaws in housekeeping, such as no clean glasses one day. Check-in is at 16.00. However, our room was not ready when we arrived at this time, and we had to wait about 20 minutes to get into our room. No big deal, but I had expected the hotel to offer a cup of coffee or a drink while we waited in the lobby. In general, we found the staff friendly and very professional. Due to covid-19 measures the usual buffet breakfast had been changed to a reserved and seated breakfast. This was handled quite well. Four different breakfasts were available and it was even possible to add items to this. The quality in general was very good, even though we found some items, mainly the the bread a little disappointing. One morning we experienced a wait and a longer breakfast than expected, but as we were not in a hurry that day, it was okay. Based on the price we paid and a number of minor flaws, the rating is very good.

  Well situated hotel, however long waiting times for breakfast

  We stayed two nights in this renowned high class hotel. It is ideally situated in the old town of Stralsund and is close to a parking garage. We arrived early, but could not get access to our room until 15:30. Our arrangement included breakfast. Because of Corona restrictions the hotel has decided not to have a buffet for breakfast. Instead the guest are alotted a time when they can arrive for breakfast. This is on a first asked, first served basis. The poor guest who is late in requesting his time slot, will be given an unpopular time (either very early or very late). The guest can choose out of 5 different menus. Unfortunately on both days of our stay the time between ordering and serving the chosen menu was far too long (50 minutes). Clearly the kitchen cant cope. Although the breakfast is attractively served at the table, it does not offer the same variety as a good buffet.

  The best there is in this lovely town

  So far I had only eaten in their restaurant and now I stayed for two nights and was very happy. Their rooms could be a bit larger and their beams a bit higher, I knocked myself into near unconsciousness, but I liked the place very much. The staff is very friendly, the service was good at all times and the hotel is just 3 minutes from the harbor or the wonderful market square. A very nice hotel in one of Germanys loveliest towns.
