Nice place, but a bit of a hassle to check inThis apartment house seems to be popular among the travelers. The house is well located next to a green plaza and the sea. They had upgraded the two of us to a spacious flat with a little balcony. meant for a group (the extra bedrooms locked during our stay). There is also a sun terrace on the roof. Clean with all the amenities. Good sleeping quality. A bit of a hassle and communication problems when arriving. There is no reception. You inform well in advance when you will arrive, and when punctually there, yet call and be prepared for some waiting. In addition, we had not noticed the small print on the reservation web site on a 300 safety deposit to be paid on arrival with a credit card in addition to the 125 we had already paid for the one night stay. We were asked to pay the deposit in cash but as experienced travelers, never carry such amounts. The nice lady, who let us in, spoke only a limited amount of English and contacted the host with whom I then agreed over the phone to give all the cash we had to this lady. We also had to agree on an exact check out time to have the deposit returned next morning . All in all an okay stay, but compared to other respective special accommodation during our trip in Tenerife and La Gomera, a bit over-priced and somewhat complicated.

Lovely Friendly small hotel, lacking in some facilities which it should of had as basicMy husband and I stayed here for a few nights before heading to the island of La Gomera. Initially it was hard to find it at first and the taxi driver Id booked didnt even know where it was! So I had to call the owner and get him to direct and tell the taxi driver where it was etc. Once we found it we were greeted to a lovely welcome from the maid/key holder, showed around the apartment and given the keys. A few days before arrival, We were kindly offered an upgrade (which we paid extra for) to a penthouse apartment which had its own terrace. It was lovely but very scarce on some of the facilities. Not only is some of the crockery chipped, theres only 2 of certain things supplied.....ie Very small cups and saucers, plates etc, knives and forks. Weve stayed in many other Airbnb and booking.com apartments and paid less for much more. Complimentary tea, coffee, juice, milk, fruit and snacks to name a few. There is also only 1 mirror in the whole apartment which is in the bathroom above the sink so you cant dry your hair and apply make up whilst your husband is showering. He also cant shave as it gets steamed up if id used it first! The safe locked all our things in it on the first night and after a restless nights sleep worrying about getting our items out, we called the owner who sent a key holder round immediately who fixed it and said the batteries were flat. She spent a while trying to get it to open, but thanks to her we got our items back. Phew! As you can imagine we didnt have much confidence in the safe after this! The safe should of surely been checked before we arrived, together with the television, which didnt work either, much to my husband annoyance! Its very sparsely set up, with lots of attempts at modern living but just not quite hitting the mark. The apartment itself was large and well located, and the sun terrace a nice added extra, but a few more extras including a separate full length mirror is a must for well over £100 a night. It would of been a better option for us to have a good score. I personally would of preferred to of given Rok Plaza this, but due to the size of apartment, excellent and friendly service from the key holder/maid and the position of the property, it was above average so a 3 star award seemed too low. We would return to Alcala which is a lovely village with a friendly Spanish feel, but wouldnt want to pay the high prices of Rok Plaza.

Small and quiet village - great apartmentMy boyfriend and I stayed in a apartment at the first floor for a week in January. The location is perfect if your looking for a getaway from the big tourist districts. The flats are big, we had two bathrooms and a great big bed and daily (quick) cleaning. There is no spa, no guide to help you book things and no restaurant, bar or cafe that belongs to Rok Plaza (like the description says). Although its just 1 min walk to the big square where you can find at least 10 cafes and restaurant. The kitchen is good (although the oven is very complicated) and ther was not all lamps that worked when we where there. Over all we found the apartment, and the fish village with the small harbour, to be a great place to stay!

Great stay in Canarian townWe stayed three weeks and enjoyed the apartment. The sun was on the shared roof terrace from 11.30-4 in Feb. Gabriella and her team of cleaners visited every day, with clean towels and sheets every other day. Good value cash and carry nearby and also a lovely butchers on Main Street. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. Lovely walk to Santiago - mostly paved and takes about an hour there. Had a great time.
