  nice escape

  I stayed with friends 5 nights at the Rock Creek resort. The last 4 nights were spent in a quiet room at the end of the hall with a deck overlooking Rock Creek. Absolutely great! Peaceful, everything you want in a mountain resort. Wi-fi worked well, although cell phone was spotty (at least for AT&T). One of my friends had to do a day of work from the room and had no problems (and many compliments on the creek/mountain backdrop. I reviewed the Piney Dell restaurant separately. It is located on the premises in a century-old building (extended and remodeled over the years). My parents went to dances there in the 1930s, which brought back pleasant memories. Highly recommended!

  Over promised, under delivered

  Hotel over promised amenities but under delivered during stay. Room 205 no wifi, only available in lobby. Never had a hotel with a commode plunger in the bathroom. Ask front desk why? Was told, " incase it was needed." Really?

  This Place is Tit'z

  We stayed for 2 days just last week. Our balcony view to Bear Creek...AWeSOME! The front desk folks were great as well. Room was clean & cozy. Used the HotTub WhirlPool twice, had to after our walk up to Medicine Wheel & Devils Canyon, a MUST trip! Breakfast, as everywhere these days is basic filler food, but the front desk folks supplied me with Nana's for two days......If we ever return to the Red Lodge area (the last time we were there was 27 years ago), this is where we will stay, absolutley a Cool place to stay!

  We recommend this rustic clean hotel

  Not sure why this place has bad reviews. Maybe peoples expectations were different. This is an older, rustic Montana lodge, so we were expecting that. The front desk people were super friendly and helpful. They let us have late check out because we wanted to go for a morning hike. The rooms were very clean. We originally were given a room on the front- pond side. But my husband asked if we could switch to the back by the creek, which they did. We are used to hunting lodges, so this was great! If you are looking for a modern place, this is not it. But we wanted a simple, rustic, clean, friendly place outside of town. We recommend staying here. Plus the Old Piney Dell restaurant is on the property and we really enjoyed it as well!

  Worst Service

  Cute hotel in nice location, but old/dated room interior. During slack season with tons of extra room, they put a family with 4 kids right over the top of our room. Stomping ALL-NIGHt-LONG. Called twice to no avail. Complained in the AM to a stodgy, no-mask-wearing front desk clerk who also didn't give a sh*t. Though she was as dated as the furnishings, a simple "I'm sorry" would have gone a long way to ease our sleepless night. Got nothing but "your check out is ready."
