    Living in an ashtray

    Very dissappointed. We stayed one night and that was one too many. Guests were allowed to kick a football around in the car park with no concern for vehicles or people. Outside table and chairs was positioned between rooms allowing smoke to enter all rooms. The whole place smelt like an ashtray. Cleaners were knocking on the door at 8am wanting to clean. There was no regard to Covid restrictions in the breakfast room and people from other motels closeby were coming in for breakfast. Could not in good conscience recommend this motel to others.

    Overnight visit for Carnival of Flowers

    Pros - breakfast included, pool, bathroom was extremely keen. Tea, coffee, fridge and microwave offered in room. Can accommodate families 3 or more. Reasonably priced but still overpriced for the accommodation offered however it was Carnival of flowers. Owners / reception were helpful when asked questions & quickly replenished breakfast items that ran low. Cons - to charge the prices its listed at, there needs to be a little maintenance. Room 11 front window rattles extensively in the wind. I needed to jam napkins in the separation to stop it.. the worse thing for me were the navy bed spreads & navy throw cushions They need to be ditched, they were terribly dirty, discoloured and covered in stains.. its a shame really as I honestly think the small change of bed spreads to something more basic will make the world of difference to the appearance, cleanliness and price offered. Oh also the lounge chairs need a good dry clean as these were quite dirty.. Both owners that were on reception Friday and Saturday were lovely, eager to help and answer any questions which was a great attribute to the venue.

    Toowoomba

    Very clean, new bathroom, comfortable bed, quiet, great value for money, the included continental breakfast was better than expected. Pool was clean. Mark at the front desk was a real character and was able to answer all our questions about Toowoomba including places to eat. Would recommend to anyone after a value priced stay. We will definately come back.

    Not recommended in the time of Covid

    Liked · The motel is very easy to spot from the busy highway due to the HUGE number on the front. Plenty of hot water for showers Disliked · We thought the location would be ok but now having visited Toowoomba & seen the layout, facilities, sights, amenities of the city we wouldn't choose this motel again. We like to walk to buy take away dinner or to eat out after a day in the car & options we thought available when we booked this motel were not. We assumed that was due to Covid-19 NOT the motel location, but even still we noticed far more options elsewhere that would have suited us, especially on the northside as we drove out of Toowoomba. Comments below apply mostly to our journey SOUTH on our way home to NSW recently. Considering we stayed there with QLD's Covid-19 strict regulations & NSW developing clusters, the "complimentary" breakfast room was a rough & ready nightmare; in fact the tables were too close as far as social distancing went. Tables were not cleared, cleaned or sanitised after people ate, in fact it was left to we diners to find where we should leave our used plates & cutlery &/or clean/sanitise our tables. Fellow diners wondered if there were any staff, just as we did. Both rooms we stayed in were in need maintenance as the back of the toilet seat in both units was broken & bathrooms are in dire need of an exhaust fan as sliding doors didn't sit flush with either adjacent wall or floor. Shower floor on return trip was exceedingly slippery so because I'm older I wore thongs while showering to feel safe. We stayed 2 nights, several weeks apart, as we were travelling north then returning home & the GUY AT CHECK-IN on our way NORTH was welcoming, cheerful & very helpful. He mentioned how much he liked Toowoomba, knew a little about our home area as he had managed tourist facilities there & that he was filling in for the regular people, who sadly were very much less welcoming. In fact travelling SOUTH on our return journey, CHECK-IN was rather Basil Fawlty-like, not very welcoming & rather gruff....I actually felt like a nuisance staying at the motel and breakfast, as commented above, just reinforced the feeling. I know it's the festive season & family/friends may be visiting but small cute children demanding more attention at check-in than a paying guest is not a good look to the tired traveller.......even for those who have spent 3 enjoyable weeks with their grandkids & are full bottle on Bluey! I've rated this motel poor because as far as I could see they were not overly interested in making guests Covid safe And after 3 weeks in FNQ, where Covid safe precautions, were taken seriously & very well observed, I thought the motel management attitude was slightly cavalier

    Not happy, Jan!

    Big disappointment! Arrived to find our 1 bed apartment was now a single room. Apparently Booking.com's fault! Then the blame game began! So our 4 night booking was cancelled so 2 single night bookings could be put in? Go figure! The attitude of the management was bad luck"? Complaint to Booking.com was a waste of time, until Vincent took over. Apparently, it was the motels fault because the availability hadnt been updated. Then to rub salt into the wound, they kindly showed us the apartment we actually booked! How sweet! Much nicer and cleaner than ours. No information in the room about breakfast, pool hours, emergency numbers for hospitals etc, in fact nothing at all. No sink plug, lamp not working, forgot to fill the coffee and sugar on one occasion, so had to get my own. Sugar not filled again, so I went out and bought my own! No towels on another. No bathmat on another. Didnt replace the tea towel. We were here for my brother in laws funeral and didnt need this! Might also pay to fill in the hole in the mattress! Sorry, this place didnt work for us, and I cant recommend it. PS. They have now conceded the error and offered a one night refund.
