  Very Disappointed

  I was very disappointed after all the reviews seemed so positive. First impression was very nice. I had dinner in the restaurant and order the filet. It was cooked perfect. However I am a meat and potato kind of guy an the dinner comes with cooked carrots and Kale. I told the waitress to same the restaurant some money and please leave these items off the plate. When I received the dinner with a stack of mash potatoes, then carrots and kale and then the steak in one big pile. I picked my way through. Then the big no no! I was sitting in my room in the evening watching tv and the door opens and in walks some lady. No knock on the door, no announcement. When I got up asked what the hell was going on she just turned around and walked out. I called the desk and was put on hold. After several minutes I explained what had happen and they said they would look into it. The front desk called back 30 minutes later and really had no explanation. They said this was not the protocol for an employee when entering the room. After this event I used the extra lock on the door not knowing who was walking around with master room keys and took all valuable with me when I left the room. Place is very nice but be aware of the service and personnel. This place did not give me the warm and fuzzy feeling.

  Amazing Stay

  My husband and I stayed for two nights and our experience was amazing!! The room was gorgeous, spacious, clean, and even had a fireplace and view of the Deschutes River. We dined at Currents inside the hotel and had exceptional service, and outstanding drinks and meals every time. I highly recommend this hotel!! Our experience was lovely from the moment we checked in and we cannot wait to stay again!!

  Loved it !

  We stayed here for 2 weeks while we were waiting to move into our new home. We loved the room, which was spacious, well-maintained, and had a view of the river. Wife and daughter spent most of their time in the hot tub and pool area, which are in an indoor atrium-like building. Both the front-desk and diner service were impeccable - servers were great with our picky daughter. Food was great and the bar is fun. We now send our visiting family and friends here.

  Amazing Deal

  We were very fortunate to be the beneficiaries of an incredible $89/night COVID rate. And for that rate, this hotel was magnificent. Staff was very friendly. Overall the room was very clean when we arrived though the bathrooms could have been cleaned a bit better. But not too bad. The bathroom themselves were relatively new and in great condition, at least in the room where we stayed. The room was very big. We had a nice fireplace with a nice Duraflame log. We had a small balcony from which we could see the river. If it wasnt so cold, we would have left the balcony door open and listen to the sound of the flowing river. The dining facilities were closed, but they provided complimentary breakfast to-go bags with yogurt, fruit and breakfast sandwich. They also had coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the Lobby. There was no housekeeping service during our two day stay (understandable due to COVID), but the staff were very prompt to provide fresh towels, coffee cartridges, etc when needed. There was a microwave and a fridge in our room. No complaints whatsoever. If you are traveling through Bend and need to stay overnight, this would be a great choice if for nothing else than to have a fireplace in your room and a terrific view of the river from your balcony.

  Highly recommend Riverhouse on the Deschutes

  I have really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is my first time staying here and I have been really happy with my overall experience. Pros. 1. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. From the front desk to the maids everyone is smiling and very nice. The staff delivering food from the restaurant has also pointed out every time, that gratuity is included with the cost of the food. I really appreciate that because I care about tipping and they take the awkwardness out of wondering if you need to tip them. (I owned a restaurant for 13 years. Friendly customer service was always one of my highest priorities as a business owner. Without it - I never visit a place twice so this is #1 highest kudo points to Riverhouse) 2. The room was impeccable when I got there. Very clean and stocked with coffee, a microwave, a huge fridge AND freezer) All the rooms, from what I can tell - overlook the the river which is absolutely lovely. I called ahead to make sure I got a second-floor room, and again, no issues they were happy to accommodate. Dinner my first night. I ordered from their restaurant and it was very good no problems. 3. Primo was the shower. :) super hot and good flow - way better than the one at home. 4. Finally, they are very dog friendly and I really appreciate that - I travel with my dog everywhere as a part of my business so this is extremely important to me. Cons. OK - so the reasons they didn't get 5 stars after all the glowing stuff above. 1. dinner was great, but breakfast was kind of awful the next morning. It was cold on arrival. I heated it up no big deal but the quality was pretty poor. I ordered the egg omelet with veggies and goat cheese and ended up getting sick later from it. 2. The microwave, lol, kind of my nemesis at this point. I've never met a microwave that was more finicky. Sounds petty - but o man, I totally actually know how to work one, and I have never met one that was so anti-working properly in all my life. Finally figured it. 3. The Lotion. I'm super sensitive to additives and whatever in lotions and scented products. By the 3rd day I my hands were breaking out in itchy rashes - so dumbed about that because it smells good but maybe they can switch to Aveda products or something. 4. Lastly - the tub was totally clogged - every time I took a shower the tub filled up. Which grosses me out So, any hoo - this is really a 5 star place but the food thing for breakfast I couldn't give it 5. I totally recommend staying here - if you order breakfast, order the yogurt! And if you are sensitive to chemicals in products bring your own stuff.
