Reasonably priced good placeAbout a good 10-15 minutes walk from the Station, check in was fast and easy. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff all polite, efficient and smiling. My friends and I walked to a Family Mart store about two blocks away, and was surprised at how quiet it was at around 8pm. Check out was fast and efficient, too.

Value for money hotel with reasonably spacious and clean roomStayed 2 nights (4-6/11/2018) there and were totally satisfied. Room had all necessities and lighting was good. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was sufficient and tasty. The onsen on the top floor was good and I particular liked the massage chair it provided though the leather of the chair was a bit worn out. Nothing to complain especially at such low price.

Regrettably DisappointingWe really wanted to like this hotel, but regrettably, almost every element ended up disappointing us, to the point where we were left wondering how we could have misled ourselves to stay here. The room (and we had one of the larger upgraded ones) felt like an old converted apartment. Nowhere is this more evident than in the bathroom beige plastic finish, old, faded, worn, with a very low ceiling and a little dirty all around. In fact, our entire room had dust throughout, especially in the harder to reach corners and areas near the ceiling. Some of this can be forgiven, but an older décor combined with a worn look and poor cleanliness does not leave a good impression. Additionally, the Wi-Fi signal strength was very poor, and in our room, virtually unusable (jumping between 0-1 bars). The hotel does offer a free smart phone for guest use during your stay, but we couldnt make any use of it owing to the Wi-Fi problems. Eventually we had to go to the hallway or lobby with our phones just to get access for urgent matters. The much advertised breakfast was ok, but certainly nothing special, and definitely not the same quality and presentation as in the website photos. In truth, the entire dining experience had a very clear cafeteria vibe to it; tables arranged in rows, handwritten signs, with staff serving rice and miso soup from behind the counter. Again, nothing really wrong here, but the atmosphere made you feel like you are there just to eat and go, rather than enjoy a local dining experience. About the only redeeming features of the hotel are the location (nice view of the Asuwa river if your room faces the south; short pleasant 15 minute walk to the JR Station), and the typically polite and helpful front desk staff. Overall, the experience left us very little to be happy about, especially considering the relatively high room rates we were charged. There may not be many options for upper-mid tier accommodation in Fukui, but we would definitely look for an alternative if we were to visit the area again.

Close but no cigarI searched for a hotel that was near the train station. This hotel is about a 15 minute brisk walk from Fukui Station. Rooms are average size. The robot at the front desk is a novel idea but not too practical.

Great Location!I'd been to Fukui City before and this time, I wanted something a bit more scenic and central. We got a Superior Double Room with a river view. It was furnished wonderfully and was very comfortable. Breakfast service was a great addition and delicious. Front staff were helpful and welcoming. My only complaint is the walls are a bit thin and we were able to hear the room next to us have conversations and people down the hall's noisy children which killed the mood.
