    Gran experiencia

¡Volveremos!

Not for the self sufficient traveler.

Dont get me wrong. The property is beautiful. Tha facilities are clean and quiet. The river view is impacted by all the trees but its ok. The ladies who work there are amazing. The cooks and the reception staff - cant fault them. The food was great but at a price and no choice as its set three course menu every day. I dont eat that much but its 200 no matter what you have it dont have. Im sure many people would love it here - but only if they are clueless about Africa. The play on the fear of tourists. I drive my own 4x4 and know Botswana very well: I am also a guide. They have one guide who is not well trained and tells the most ridiculous incorrect facts about the animals he encounters. That I can forgive but telling people that a hippo has to stay in the water because its legs cant support them - foolish. These guests could get themselves killed by walking up to a hippo to take a picture thinking they have nothing to worry about (Im typing this from St Lucia where someone was killed by a hippo in the last few days). He also went awol with the security guard in the mornings. Blocked the open gate so I couldnt get out on the game drive then was nowhere to be found. Did this two mornings in a row so maybe he was having fun with the security guard and lost track of time. Made me laugh because the guests didnt like the gate being left open and unattended. I just wanted to go on my drive in my car. So to conclude - this place is great if you want to hide in a lodge scared to explore and have no clue how to fend for yourself and no clue about Africa. And if you want to pay too much for food and be forced to sit with strangers every time you eat then this is for you (not good if you are a couple who want a nice getaway). They are offended if you want to do things yourself it seems and then make comments about how you wont see anything without them (again funny as I was at every sighting before you and you missed a few bud . ) There was a Dutch couple that said they had come from Tanzania and found the same - they treat you like idiots. If you are an educated wildlife person or guide,or live in life SA and camp etc, this aint for you! So yeah nice rooms, but felt like a prison in the most part - cancelled some river activities and went to another lodge I know and booked through them, wanted them to have my money rather. I will revert to camping in future, what was I thinking!

Nice location on the Chobe river

Nice little lodge, with great location on the Chobe river. Sit down on the shore in the evening and watch the sunset (you can see it only partially), just wonderful ! Quiet and peaceful. Owner very helpful. We had a big family room. Food very, very, yummy. At lunchtime a free lunch is provided. Unbelievable, they should demand money for it ! Really ! In addition, all day muffins are available, the best I have eaten in my life ! Game Drives in the Chobe Game Reserve or boatcruises are offered through third parties.

    A great stay

Located not far from Kasane airport, a car is needed as it is a little way from Kasane central. Rooms spacious and breakfast lovely. Amazing staff across the board. Free wifi and run by a lovely lady by the name of Lindy, very helpful. Rooms airy an spacious, do remember not to leave the porch light on at night, our first night we arrived back from dining in Kasane central to a veritable plethora of insects on the porch of our bungalow and one very big bug on the wall inside which took a lot of encouragement to vacate the property. Lesson learned! Tours can be booked from the Lodge. Very nice to be able to sit outside by the pool and bar and see the children playing by the river. A klaxon is in the room so that in the unlikely event that a croc breaches the electric fencing you can summon help. A 24 hour guard is on hand. We loved our time here and highly recommend it.
