  Lovely welcoming country hotel

  On arrival we were given a warm welcome by the manager and felt safe due to Covid requirements being established. Information about the restaurant, breakfast and reception were explained. We stayed in Room 4 which was newly decorated in a modern boutique style whist still maintaining elements linked to the age and character of the property. An informative letter explained thoroughly the safety measures in place within the room relating to coronavirus. A comfy bed with crisp, clean linen. Tea and coffee making facilities, TV, WiFi and toiletries. The bathroom needs modernising but was functional with some historic features. We stayed for an evening meal in the restaurant which was served in elegant candlelit surroundings.. The food was tasty , value for money and well presented in a contemporary style. Waiting staff were polite and attentive throughout the meal. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. A job well done by all the staff in these unprecedented times. Well worth a visit. Well definitely be coming back.

  Fantastic little weekend away

  Last minute weekend away for myself and my husband - after a whirlwind year working as a nurse through covid. It was lovely little place, staff couldn't do enough for you. We had a king suite which was lovely and big. Plenty of space and clean. Just the place to base from to do some walking and exploring. The food in the restaurant was fab, although a limited menu due to these exceptional times, but great value and tasty all the same. Yes the building is looking a little tired in places, but aren't we all at the moment!!. Truly the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable and most importantly SAFE. Looking forward to returning

  Lovely room awsome staff

  The hotel is fantastic, from the minute you check in to the minute you check out nothing is to much trouble. All the staff are lovely and go out of there way to help and make you stay great. Hotel has great covid system As a female staying on her own I felt safe and happy here The room was awsome and amazing value

  Excellent hotel and service

  We booked a night away here for our wedding anniversary we arrived at 2.30 by a lovely receptionist who couldn't help us more we then checked into out hotel room which was lovely and clean we did have an issue with the water however the hotel manager sorted it out straight away and had a lovely hot bath had dinner in the hotel food was limited due to covid but was amazing food hot a plenty to eat price for a three course meal was very good aswell had breakfast aswell my bacon cooked to perfection aswell the staff are very professional and friendly and this hotel is a lovely ace to stay we will be back and next time for 2 night outstanding service and staff nothing was to much for them i carnt rate risley 10/10 for us it was 100/100 see you all soon stay safe x

  Very comfortable stay

  I suspect this is usually a wedding hotel, given the style. The most important thing to say is that I had a very comfortable stay. The bed was excellent - so important to have a good night's sleep. Room was exceedingly spacious and clean. Tea, coffee, biscuits in the room and added bonus of a microwave. The property is a little tired and in need of TLC but this did not impact my stay. I will book again. Very handy for the M1 and A52, just 15 mins from the centre of Nottingham. Due to COVID there was a grab and go breakfast which was rather good - fruit, cereals, pastries and milk carton, much better than a lot of places. I will book again.
