  Relaxation in gorgeous location with lovely people

  I booked Ripples on the Bay after reading many wonderful online reviews, and it didn't disappoint. I was looking for a peaceful location in Vanuatu, away from tourist crowds, and Sally, Damien, James and Sani, along with Bondi and Barnaby the dogs made me feel like I was part of the furniture without being in any way intrusive. The bungalows (I stayed in two over 9 days) were large, comfortable and had all the basics plus a few extras such as bar fridge with cold drinks, and beautiful toiletries. I ate at the on site restaurant for all but a handful of meals during my stay and enjoyed every dish. Being vegetarian, with preference for gluten-free, this was pretty impressive and Sally and Damien went to extra effort to provide meals that would suit my dietary needs. As for the desserts... they were to die for. If your aim is to spend a lot of time going to touristy spots around Efate I'd recommend hiring a car as Ripples is about 20 minutes drive from Port Vila and slightly off the beaten track. However, as my goal was to relax as much as possible, the taxis and buses worked well on the few occasions I ventured further afield. Snorkelling was super easy in the rock pool by the resort and for those with more confidence, there was beautiful coral and more fish in the open water just beyond. Reef shoes and snorkelling gear are provided. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ripples to anyone looking for relaxation in a welcoming and boutique location. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

  Paradise

  After being in Port Vila this place is like paradise, removed from everything. As advertised, its a hidden gem. Rooms spacious and very clean. Showers super nice and the ceiling fan did the trick even in the middle of summer. Loved the hammock dedicated to each room. Finally an A+ for landscaping, trees/plants are beautiful and the reef is gorgeous. Only issue (and this is not on the hotel) is the transportation in Vanuatu in general. Cabs are a small fortune (they blame the gas prices) so make sure you call the owners, Damien and Sally and see if they can arrange a local minibus to pick you up and drop you off since the hotel is really out there.

  Stunning spot with personal touch

  Stayed here for one night on my drive around Efate. Damien and Sally are very welcoming and gave the stay a personal touch. There is excellent snorkeling right at your doorstep with free use of reef shoes and snorkel and when youve worked up an appetite make sure you get some of Sallys curry and when feeling decadent, add on the brownie with homemade raspberry ice cream :-)

  Hidden Gem with amazing rock pool

  I love this place, not only is it adults only with no screening kids it has its own natural rock pool. At first I wasn't sure if a regular pool would be better but this is so much better it's not funny, every day it fills with different fish and creatures yet it is calm and protected from waves. It's just brilliant. The rooms while basic are big and private and lockable. But the best thing has to be the food, not a massive menu but everything on it is just excellent

  Great location & delicious food

  Damien and Sally made us very welcome we enjoyed a lovely Indian inspired meal that was one of the best we have had for a long time. The accommodation and location was prefect for us having a night away. I would definitely recommend and we will be returning again to try out the rest of the menu.
