  Lets start with the bad things. the rooms are tiny and the shower has no space, all the guests cars are crammed into one place, the owners question you every time you talk to them, like when I was going out they asked where I was going all the time. There were some good things though, breakfast was very nice, the dog is very cute and cuddly and the beds are comfy.

  Nice Hotel in Blackpool

  Rio Rita run by Jan and John a great place to stay near to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Great breakfasts and nice clean comfortable rooms. Nice atmosphere with John having a few magic tricks up his sleeve for the kids. A nice lounge also with a bar for the evenings. Enjoyed staying there.

  Poor-would not return

  John welcomed us and was very helpful with free parking. The room was a decent size on the top floor in the attic. It had been cleaned, with tea and coffee facilities, but had a dodgy damp smell. The shower was terrible, luke warm and only a trickle of pressure. The B&B itself was clean, but had that smell, and was seriously dated. Nicotine beige artex walls throughout. The bed was comfy to lie on, but had that damp feel and smell about it, which got worse throughout the course of the stay. Breakfast was fresh, hot and perfectly adequate. The other guests were pleasant. I wouldnt stay again nor recommend, but having said that, it is Blackpool and Ive stayed in worse!

  Great Stay

  We booked the Rio Rita very last minute and called in advance to ask about parking to which we were advised getting a space would be no problem. On arrival we were greeted by John who told us where we needed to go to park our car. Once parked up we were welcomed by both Janice, John and their wee dog Pip. Our temperature was taken on arrival along with contact details etc and we were also asked about our breakfast choices. John showed us to our room on the first floor (room 2) which was a good size with enough storage and a good sized toilet /shower room. Due to the current pandemic, there was hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes within our room and it did show throughout that the couple had put as many safety measures in place as possible. Breakfast was served between 9am and 9:45am in the breakfast room and there was a choice of cereal, fruit juice, toast, tea & coffee and then a lovely full english breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the rooms were clean & welcoming and the couple who run the B&B were lovely. The only thing I wasn't so keen on was the strong smell of air freshener in the hotel however that's not a criticism, it's more down to personal taste. We wouldn't hesitate to return here in the future and would recommend it to anyone who's thinking of spending some time in Blackpool.

  September weekend

  On arrival we were directed to the back of the building to park our car and had our temperatures taken as we entered the building. Owners are very welcoming and little pip their dog is such a little cutie. We filled in our details when we arrived and were given a bit of paper to tick what items we would like for breakfast which I thought was a great idea we were shown to our room and for a 2 night stay it was small but enough for us to put our heads down and have a rest. The b&b is located in a perfect place at the south shore and the street was quiet enough. There was plenty of signage around the hotel advising of the new face mask rules. The b&b is a little outdated but it didn't bother us and overall we had a pleasant stay and would consider coming back again.
