  Perfect hotel for your Schwarzwald visit

  This is a really lovely little hotel, in a great location. I chose it mainly because it's one of the few hotels in the area that has air conditioning. Most will tell you a/c isn't needed in the summer, due to cool nights... but, of course, there was a heat wave the week I was there and the a/c was a big part of making this an excellent experience. I happened to get the top floor room, which has a balcony and beautiful view of the surrounding area. The bathroom was cutting-edge modern and clean, and the room was big and comfortable. Great bed, TV, couch, desk, strong Wifi... and a really good included breakfast in the hotel restaurant with lots of choices. There seems to be renovation/expansion of one section of the hotel going on, although this didn't affect me, but you should probably check what the deal is when you contact the place. I highly recommend this hotel.

  One night stay

  It was a great hotel in a great location with a very great staff. we arrived to the hotel in a late hour. We easily found a place in the parking and there was a phone at the reception desk to call the receptionist who arrived us in 1 min. the check in was quick and easy and the room was very nice with a balcony that has great view on the green mountains. The breakfast was very delicious and fresh. The only disadvantage was that there was no elevator on the hotel so we had to carry our luggage to the 2nd floor !

  THE FIRE ALARM WENT OFF ON SUNDAY AT 7:45 AM - NO APOLOGIES FROM THE STAFF

  We stayed 3 nights in this hotel for the first time. On the second night in the early morning of Sunday 7:45 the fire alarm went off with no fire or smoke visible. It last about 10', we werwdeep asleep and got really scared and confused. Many of us went down on pijamas but we never heard an explanation or apology which I found very odd. Coming from a 5 star I would've expected an apology and most of the times a treat of some kind but nothing. This is a partly refurbished hotel in the middle of a small group of houses called Lautenbach. I stayed there with my daughter who is 4 years old. The room was spacious and recently refurbished. The service in restaurant and breakfast was unfriendly and careless, they seemed overwhelmed or to stressed out with workload. The food was quite ok. Cleanliness I must admit that for a 5* was not impressive.

  Good quality, recommended

  Very nice small city, beautiful views. Comfortable rooms, very kind and professional service, good breakfast. And what is very important excellent dinner menu at hotel's restaurant. I fully recommend.

  Good hotel in Lautenbach with great fitness facilities and great swimming pool

  We were in the new part of the hotel and we had a spacious, modern room with a good size bath room. Breakfast was ok, all you could wish for. The hotel has a nice fitness room and a beautiful swimming pool. Rooms very clean. Personally we didn't like the price quality ratio of the restaurant. Food was ok, without being super but prices were on the high side. The hotel is situated in a small village where nothing is going on but it's a good base camp to go hiking in the area.
