  Great Holiday in a lovely place

  I was in this hotel untill today with my family and we found this place really lovely, the whole staff is really kind and professional giving lot of attentions. Our room was really big , warm and comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed our stay a lot and we will sure come back soon. About the restaurant let me say that, even if i lived 33 years in italy, i rarely had such a great perfect food, it has 5* in my opinion, chapeau....

  Ok Hotel for a night

  The staff was very friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was an ok buffet selection and the freshly brewed coffee was truly good. Parking can be an issue, if people are at the restaurant and the hotel is booked well. When we arrived we had to park on the street - parking meters! The overall impression of the hotel's interior is that is could use a bit of TLC. It is from a different era, definitely not for young couples. Wifi is spotty and not truly reliable. The bathroom overall and the showers in particular are super small. I am not a big person but had a hard time moving in the shower once the door was closed. If you stay during hot summers be aware that -as in many German hotels of this category- there is no aircon! So it is hot and as in our case sometimes very humid. Opening the window might help but creates other problems (partly depending on the room you got, I guess): 1. Whilst Oberkirch might be a sleepy down in the evenings, cars drive through all night and it is rather loud with an open window as the noise travels. 2. Mosquiotos come into the room as was the case with us. Again, friendly staff, but rooms are so, so.

  Unsatisfactory

  Having confirmed our reservation in writing, we were received by a very stern and rude manager (the owner) who told us that he could not accommodate our 10 year old daughter as he had no additional room for her. We had booked for two double rooms with two adults in each, plus a child bed in one. The website stated children were welcome. We had to leave the hotel and find alternative accommodation. We lost our deposit and the (Owner of the Hotel) attempted to charge us for the whole stay as he indicated (no English spoken) we would have had to have cancelled our stay by the day before our first night as otherwise the full price would be due! We were left out of pocket and dismayed by his curt manner and unhelpful behaviour, with no apology for his mistake and our disappointment and inconvenience. Luckily, we were able to find alternative accommodation in Seebach in Pension Williams (where we had stayed two years prior). We were able to book two doubles with balcony and amazing mountain vistas from our balconies and our 10 year old daughter had a full sized single bed to herself for only 10euros per night. The Pflug Website misrepresents this hotel as being in a 'leafy quiet area', it is in a noisy street with limited free parking available and is hot and stuffy inside. We have lost money by booking this hotel as the deposit had to be paid by bank transfer rather than visa credit card, but we have had a fantastic holiday in Seebach nr Ottenhoffen and a lovely couple of days in the Alsace instead. A lucky escape we feel! We do not recommend this hotel.

  Great base for the Black Forest

  Stayed in June 2017 for 3 nights with a group of biker friends. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy and perfectly adequate and well appointed. Staff friendly and helpful and breakfast was plentiful, fresh and tasty. Overall the hotel was well run and well kept with no noise issues or disturbances in a very quaint little town. Ideally situated on the edge of the Black Forest for Bikers, Hikers or anyone else that loves this part of Germany.

  Motorcycle tour of the Black forest

  Great location for a visit to the Black forest We had a 3 night stay using the Black forest deal which includes evening meals booked through the hotel website and was excellent value The hotel was clean and the staff helpful We also had a garage to park the bikes over night
