  excellent cooking of simple local food

  This is a mountain refuge, not a hotel. The accommodation is good basic. It is run by a local family who are very welcoming. The food is good - but do not expect a choice. Nice little touches: eg an enormous bowl of cherries on the bar - and Gabriela gave us a bowl to take up to our room. It is wonderfully sited, on a rough road about 1km after the tarmac gives out and just about at the treeline. The local taxi will take you there: it's popular for Sunday lunch. The views from the verandah are wonderful. There is amazing walking from the door, both circular routes and long distance paths. We stayed 2 nights. On the middle day, did an amazing circular walk including about 1.5km along a ridge at over 2000 metres then a quick swim in one of the tarns just below the top. On the last morning, it only took us about 4 hours to walk back to the train station at Roncegno Terme, a full 1000 metres below.

  Great local place to rest and admire panoramic views

  We visited this place few days ago when the weatcher was awful - it was raining and very foggy outside. The owners familly invited us to come in, prepared very tasty hot chocolate, gave us all the needed information about the area. Later my husband and doughter had a rest there and I made a short trip towards seven lakes. I could not see so much because of the fog, but I have to admitt that the marked path was very good prepared. On my way back I visited again the shelter Serot and again I was impressed by its beauty and a nice atmosphere. For sure I will be back there as soon as possible, it is one of these pleaces you can be totally in love with from the first sight...

  Very good unique location +++

  We stayed here during our motorcycle trip through Italy and the Dolomites. Note; this hotel is located high on the mountain on a a adventurous road. Very friendly staff. Nice rooms, we just felt at home. We would do it absolutely again.

  Una regina

  Al rifugio Serot sono così gentili e attenti che ti fanno sentire sempre una regina. They are so kind and present that I felt as a queen all the time. Non ti senti mai sola. You never feel alone. Tornerò. I will be back.
