  Clean room and bathroom

  We spent one night while driving on I-95 with family, nice rooms, comfortable beds, clean and we felt safe during Covid situation there, some guests were not wearing masks but thats an issue that hotels cant control, aside of this well done!

  A real disappointment

  My wife and I have frequented Marriott properties all over the world for decades and are familiar with Marriott service standards. We are sorry to say that these standards are not being met at this hotel. First, the good points. The Marriott Short Pump is physically very attractive with spacious, well-appointed common areas and well-decorated and functional rooms. The negatives seem all to be related to staffing levels, since staff itself is very friendly and attentive on an individual basis. Things got off to a bad start when we waited for numerous minutes to enter the hotel to register. We were finally admitted by a departing guest.. Then we waited in line for another extended period to register. There was only one person serving the entire front desk. Breakfast in the conierge lounge was a bad joke. It consisted of 7-11 quality sandwiches that we heated in a micro wave. The next day was even worse - the sandwiches had run out! There were several youth athletic teams staying at the hotel and the youths would knock on the lounge door until someone admitted them. They then proceeded to carry off piles of sandwiches. They could get away with this because there were no hotel personnel to be found. Saturday night we tried to get a drink at the bar, but were never able to locate a bartender. We understand CV-19 has shut many things down, but this property is clearly trying to run with virtually no staff. Other guests we spoke with had similar opinions.

  Nice Updgraded Room on a 1 night stay!

  Spent one night at Marriott Short Pump and received a nice upgrade to a larger room with an air purifier and a fragrance box that promotes relaxation. Still don't like the Marriott bathroom design with sliding doors and gaps that allow sound to travel outside the bathroom. Nice people at check-in, short distance from shopping mall and restaurants ... a nice stay!

  Superior service!

  Quick one night stay greeted with outstanding and personalized service! Maureen was dynamite! Would definitely recommend if you are near this area. And as a bonus, the heated pool was a great way to unwind.

  Definitely Recommend

  I was looking for a hotel in the area, and this location was amongst the top choices that came up. I am SO GLAD that I stayed here. I had stayed in a different hotel in Richmond last month, and that was a bad experience so I was a little weary to say the least. First, this hotel is in a remote location with its own huge parking lot. I really appreciated that because the past hotels Ive stayed at required $30+/night for valet service and utilizing their parking garages. The surrounding area is super quiet, not much traffic, but a lot of options. There are so many stores, malls, restaurants and even gas stations. The hotels exterior is well-kept and has a beautiful waterfall Upon entry, I noticed everyone was kind & respectful. People kept their masks on and I also saw staff keeping the building cleaned. The staff was super friendly and presented me with a packet of different restaurants to eat from that are open during the pandemic. The room was beautiful and clean. Thermostat worked well and was accurate. They even offer a QR code on the TV so you can use your phone as a remote instead of touching a remote that other people may have used. The feature lags/works a little slow, but I still appreciated it. The fridge is small but it works. The closet is spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the shower is clean. I think my favorite feature of the entire stay is that there is also a hand shower mounted on the wall beside the actual shower head so you can use the hand shower if you dont want to get your hair wet. You can actually control where the water is going. The restaurant/bar/lounge was closed due to COVID-19 unfortunately, but that didnt ruin my stay considering there are so many surrounding options for bars & the sort. THE ONLY THING I DIDNT LIKE is that the bathroom door doesnt lock. Its a sliding door. Anyone can open it or close it while youre in the bathroom, so be weary of that. Other than that, my stay was great and Id definitely come back!
