Good HotelTypical Japanese quality. Room 1139 not large but very good. Access to hotel is from an arcade so lots of shops , restos close by. Simple breakfast included. Location is central but not close to main train station, right beside tram stop.

Excellent hotelExcellent hotel in all respects. Location, front desk staff, cleaning staff, rooms, bathrooms, cost/value, laundry service, washing machines (those were just ok), air conditioning on brutally hot days, etc. would recommend to any traveler going to Kumamoto.

Very clean and convenient with wonderful staff with a bonus Smart phoneMy 5 nights stay at this hotel was very good. Good breakfast options, and some Traditional Japanese sides. Staff could understand and talk English very well and very helpful to get around. Its conveniently located in shopping area called Shimotori with lots of restaurants, shopping for all budgets including traditional Japanese items. There's Mc Donald's, Starbucks and convinient stores in few steps. Very close to the historic castle. There are bigger malls called TSURUYA, SAKURA MACHI etc. Taxis are just around the corner. And big surprise was the Smart Phone, given with the room. You can use it for all the apps without logging into your social account. Even if you do the usage data gets erased on your check out date. You can even make international calls with it.

Rooms convenient - no view. Amenities - ok wifi - ok breakfast - you can choose set from fix menu and other items such as salad etc. are in bar self service. Not good value compare to other places we been. hotel is 5 minutes walk from the casstle

Average hotel in shopping precinctI had a corner double room which had two big windows. There was no room safe and no comfy chair to sit in. The bed was hard and the sheets didnt fit properly. There was a stained mattress cover. The pillows were soft and comfortable and the bed was made up with a duvet. There was no cupboard just a hanging area with hooks. Because the area outside the bathroom was wide I was able to open my large suitcase easily. Furthermore, there was a useful gap next to the entrance where I was able to store my suitcase out of the way. There was no English tv but the wifi was very good. The air conditioning was noisy. Unusually (when compared with the other Japanese hotels I stayed in) no cotton wool pads were provided. No bottled water was provided. The bathroom was a capsule/modular style bathroom but it wasn't as cramped as some! Because the hotel is in the middle of a covered shopping precinct there are tons of restaurants around. I normally went around the corner to pick up a coffee from Starbucks and a delicious bread/egg sandwich in a little restaurant. However, on the day I left, I was leaving before they opened so I had breakfast in the hotel. Not only was it expensive but it had an extremely limited choice. For £10 - I had 1 fried egg & 1 piece of toast and some yoghurt! It was 7 minute walk to the bus station (for the bus to the airport). The hotel arranged parking in a nearby multi-storey car park which was about 7 minutes walk away. Some staff spoke good English and provided invaluable sightseeing suggestions (Kikuchi gorge).
