  Locality and price is a sure-win!

  The hotel in general is very well cleaned and maintained. The bonus about this hotel is the location which is just 5min walk to the subway Hakata station where you can easily take the metro to the airport (just 3 stops away!) and the Shinkansen or the JR line plus Kysh line, all lumped into a quick getaway for any free-and-easy travel! I requested a quiet room knowing a busy city of Fukuoka can be a little noisy as its so central, I was given a room facing another building which is fair enough and peaceful without much summer sunlight. If you face the other side where the traffic is, during the summer the screeching of the morning cicada is inevitably natural! Breakfast is not buffet-styled however it gives you a great Japanese Kysh treat to your tastebuds! The room however has a little inconvenience which is the electrical points are not international (multi-plug sockets) nor USB ports installed liken to the newer hotels. Instead, a multi-all-plug mobile phone charger is provided on the bedroom desk for your usage. Not forgetting the spaciousness compared to their general competitors is already ranked as one of the better ones, this is one hotel in Japan I can still fit in two opened luggage yet theres ample walking space (if you been to Japan and stayed in their city hotels you will know what I mean!!). A little portable PDA allows you to walk around and connect to WiFi conveniently and searching for food or directions is just a touch away. Lastly, like my last trip to Kurume and Kagoshima, an air filter Panasonic machine is provided if you need the air refreshed and cleaned. Overall, two thumbs up!

  Close to Hakata station

  First, I would like to comment that the service provided by the staff is of excellence, very typical Japanese hospitality. We stayed 4 nights at this hotel because it is close to Hakata station. We stayed at both the standard double room and deluxe double room. For comparison, both rooms, apart from slight layout difference, feel identical in term of size, which we thought was quite decent for a couple. Surprisingly, the standard room has safety locker whereas the deluxe one doesn't, which is kind of odd. The hotel looks a bit dated. And although it has coin operated laundry, it only have one washer and one dryer on level 2 and 8 only, which means there's only a total of 2 washers and 2 dryers. I appreciate the staff hospitality but personally I prefer a more contemporary hotel style but this is just a personal preference.

  Great location

  We stayed in deluxe double room 24.8 sqm for 3 nights across the weekend. So the room rate for Saturday night is more expensive than any other day. This is probably the oldest Richmond Hotel (vs. 9 others) that I have been staying. But the best part of this hotel is the location which is just about 5 mins walk from JR Hakata station. Plenty of big shopping malls nearby as well as Yodobashi Camera just located next door. If shopping and dinning are your top priorities, then this hotel is the top choice.

  Excellent hotel and excellent breakfast

  Received personal greeting and great service from manager. Breakfast is excellent, cooked to order, many choices, But Japanese breakfast is best. I have stayed here many times and highly recommend. I will stay again when in Hakata. Convenient location to JR Station and many restaurants.

  Great Hotel Right by Hakata Station

  This hotel is a nice hotel very close to Hakata Station so it is a great location. Hotel was very clean, staff was super helpful. There are different types of double rooms. A standard double just has a "full sized" bed. There there are rooms with two double beds or a deluxe double with a queen sized bed. Also make sure you designate whether you want a smoking or non smoking room.
