  Booked this hotel for an overnight stay due to work . Fantastic experience upon arrival was greeted and booked in by John a really nice bloke . Check in was simple and quick , hotel has an excellent covid 19 safeguarding system in place , hotel was lovely full of charm decorated and furnished to a high standard, as a carpet fitter I was very impressed with the stairs and landing carpets in this place . Room itself was lovely I had a single room with a sea view , facilities were fantastic en-suite bathroom , plenty of tea coffee in room , Wardrobe and draws , alarm clock . Free WiFi , a lift , free parking outside . Bed was comfortable and immaculately clean , 24 hour access I left early in morning which was no problem at all John explained the procedure which was very simple . Absolute pleasure to stay at this hotel and very cheap considering the high standards of this hotel 5 STAR SERVICE THANK YOU

  Great hotel

  Jonathan friendly helpful nothing too much trouble I missed breakfast but they did me toast and coffee so very kind. Room was 2nd floor clean comfortable and little en-suite with shower water warm, good sleep left window open as it was hot. Nice wardrobe space and dressing table , kettle if you want coffee or tea. Had wine from bar in the evening very nice. Cheap for one night off the beaten track opposite the beach. I will stay again I felt safe as I went alone. Got the 2 days break I wanted as my Greek holiday cancelled. Never found my friend Marios another trip to meze mazi maybe with my boyfriend next time! Everything walkable shops and cafes must try fish and chips next time too. Brought back scrumpy cider rock and fudge for family lolly pops for grandchildren.

  Really great visit

  Would really recommend a visit to this hotel. Jonathan the owner was fantastic, very helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Lovely location, really enjoyed. Considering we went during the covid pandemic we still had a really fab time

  Great Hotel with spectacular views.

  Me and my wife arrived at the Richmond and were greeted by Jonathan who booked us in and after explain one or two things regarding the safety instructions about covid19 he directed us to our room. We were allocated a room on the top floor, fortunately there was a lift so no humping heavy cases. The room was front facing with views over Weston's sea front, a kiddies play area and a crazy golf. The room was bright and cheerful with a compact shower room and comfortable bed, so no complaints there. We felt safe as Jonathan had paid particular attention to the covid19 safeguarding with a one way system, hand sanitiser all round the hotel, temperature checking and face covering instructions which was very reassuring. Breakfast was excellent, we opted for the "full English" that included toast and preserves, tea or coffee and a choice of cereal all served to your table, so enough to set you up for the day. Unfortunately due to the covd19 situation Jonathan was unable to offer and evening meal but there are plenty of eateries close by and Jonathan can point you in the right direction, As for location you would be hard pressed to find better, with bars, restaurants, activities, sea front location and the shops are in easy reach, I would recommend the crazy golf in front of the hotel, it's a bit of fun and not expensive with reductions for kids and OAOP's and they do a pretty good ice cream. One more thing, try the Marine lake, it has a secluded little beach and safe swimming for kids and i's close to the hotel. The Richmond has a well stocked bar and when we were there it was open till round about midnight. Front of the Richmond is a sun terrace, where you can sit and enjoy the views and just chill out, weather permitting. The hotel is dog friendly so you can take your pooch along as well and there are loads of places to walk. All in all it was a very pleasant break, we were there for 3 nights and couldn't fault a thing and to top it all Jonathan was the perfect host. There is limited parking at the front of the hotel and there is over night payable paring close by. We would recommend the Richmond and would definitely go back again.   Filthy Bathroom!!

  I stayed at this hotel after reading the good reviews, I really cant understand why anyone would give it a good review?? We could have stayed somewhere much cheaper and I really wish we had because I feel weve waisted hard earned money. We were arriving an hour before booking in time but after a phone call before hand it was agreed one of our two rooms would be ready so we could leave our luggage before going out. After our journey we thought we would have a cuppa before heading out. Unfortunately the kettle was absolutely filthy. I rinsed it out as much as possible and made a drink but none of us could drink it as we were put off. On top of this I noticed some of the sockets in the room were broken and potentially dangerous. When we arrived the chap said if we wanted remotes for the telly we would have to pay £20 deposit for each room - never experienced that before! Unfortunately when we got back that evening there was no one around so no telly. After being out all day I decided to have a bath, but on going in the bathroom realised it was absolutely filthy! Also the taps in the basin were filthy and made me sick just to clean my teeth! My kettle was also filthy so no cuppa again. I searched high and low for a hairdryer but there wasnt one, I didnt bring one as it was advertised as being in the room. I went to my daughters room but there wasnt one there either so I went to bed with wet hair. The following morning we were told you had to ask for one if you wanted one - not helpful late at night after a bath and certainly not something Iv experienced before. The bathroom light had no switch but comes on automatically when you walk in the bathroom but then stays on for a long time. Unfortunately this meant the bathroom light and fan were on most of the night keeping me awake as I couldnt switch them off. The bed and bedding were not too bad and the breakfast was good, the man (sorry dont know his name) was friendly. All in all this was definitely not worth the money we paid and I most certainly will not be returning or recommending it to anyone. Surely keeping a place clean is a basic requirement in a hotel and also if you advertise certain facilities make sure they are available!
