  Poor value

  The rooms are fairly pleasant-looking and clean, and the hotel overlooks the beautiful, tiny little village of Tanzatoute, with great views of the palmeraie and the Atlas Mountains. Dinner served at the hotel was ok, although very expensive for what it was. That about ends the positive points. First, the hotel is built in such a way that you cant see any of the surrounding views unless you are standing on your feet at the edge of the balconies or the terrace. All one can see when relaxing at the sitting area or walking around the terrace is a wall. Second, one of the two staff members apparently has some boundary issues. He seems relaxed and friendly, but ten minutes after we arrived at the hotel, he asked us to lend him our rented car so he could go the market. We obviously didnt want to give the car to a total stranger and we explained to him that we were not allowed by our rental contract to have additional drivers, we even offered to drive him there ourselves, but he wanted to go alone and he really insisted so much that we finally gave in. Also, while we were having dinner the same guy sat down at our table with us a couple of times completely uninvited, and talked to us for so long that we had to ask him to bring us something just to make him leave. And most importantly, the hotel had no air-conditioning even though our reservation through booking.com clearly stated that the rooms were air-conditioned. As we travelled in August, the heat was so unbearable during the night that, although we left the door of the room wide open so that there would be a draught, we did not manage to sleep at all. There were also two other people sleeping right outside our room on the loungers on the terrace because of the heat. I arrived at the hotel after a 9-hour drive, feeling unwell and needing a good nights sleep and after an exhausting and sleepless night I left sick and with a fever, which basically ruined the rest of my short holiday in morocco. Next morning when we showed the reservation sheet to the manager and pointed out that the information regarding air-conditioning was completely misleading, he had suddenly forgotten all his English. Although the room cost 27euro, we ended up paying around 70euro for one night, dinner for two, a couple of beers and two bottles of water. All in all, very poor value and a very unpleasant stay.

  Great experience in Ourzazate

  Great experience staying here...The owner was so generous to us..The cook..cooked excellent dinner for us. Its one of the best vegetarian coscos we had here..and cooked in proper village traditional way. The rooms are good and maintain their traditional looks...For the price we paid its worth a stay to experience a wonderful traditional stay and you have beautiful view of the village and the palm trees..the high atlas mountains...although it is 20km away from Ourzazate..it is better as in the night its much quieter. Dont get suprised with the entrance as its a quiet new riad and the parking/entrance area is still under construction.. Thanks.... Regards Haresh & Maduri Bhatia from Dubai
