If you are thinking of staying here don't!We stayed here at the end of a Geckos tour. It is in the middle of nowhere, 1/2 an hour from the centre of Marakesh with no reliable transport in or out of the city centre although they claim that it can be requested at anytime. Anytime normally means at least an hours wait even if you have arranged a specific time the previous day. ( Great fun when your airport transport turns up and hour and half late leaving less than an hour to check in.) If you want to go out in the evening from here forget it you will never get back in to the compound and possibly never make it out either. There are also no restaurants or cafes close by so you are basicly imprisoned here and totaly reliant on what's offered at the riad which isn't much. Forget getting a coffee or tea if you would like one outside of breakfast time, you will never find a member of staff. They offer a haman and massage which in my experince was a disaster, I walked out half way through as lying on cold stone waiting for the hot water tap to steam the large room was not part of the experience I was anticipating, neither was the terrible massage that preceeded it. The 'show rooms' for tour groups are very different to the dark small room that are given to other guests or once tours finish. There is also no where to sit apart from around the pool so if it is raining good luck if you are in one of the rooms by the breakfast area!

Long way out for not a lotWe stayed here on completion of a Morocco tour, and in fact booked in on the recommendation of the travel company for an extra night, because they said it offered value for money and was as good as one could get in Marrakech. What they ommitted to say was that it was a long way from the town, and I share the other review from a Gecko traveller that it is not an easy ride into town, although we were offered a free service during our stay. That said, the traffic is not favourable, nor does it seem worth doing. The Riad is sorely lacking investment, and I note from the other sites I have visited on it that it shows the owners villa in the middle of the complex, not the residence itself, which is a rather shabbily kept building nearer the road. The room was large, but not well maintained. The loo seat came off in my hand (no hinges) and the bath was stained. The loo leaked all over the floor although this was fixed by the very obliging and helpful Senagalese man there who made a rather uninspiring stay more bearable. The bath towels had obviously been washed and dried in the sun - great for exfoliating but not very enticing. There is nowhere to have a drink or eat nearby and the Riad offers nothing. Breakfast is served in the seating area of foldable chairs, and whilst plentiful, lacked the fresh orange juice or nice local breads we had during our trip. It all felt as if corners were being cut and it was being done on a shoe string. We did have sight of a much plusher and more recently completed unit at the back of this development, but it appears none of the travel companies who offer adventure tours use this. Its a pile em high, sell em cheap job - and not worth the haul out of Marrakech

Wonderful Calm experienceWhat I admired most about this beautiful Riad/Hotel is the calm fresh air that it provides. I enjoyed my nights there due to the wonderful service of an amazing berber lady called Toda along with a bright young man/manager's son named Mehdi. Apparently the Riad is under his name. He was very kind, amazing english, and undoubtedly useful.
