Lovely hotel - good position - but cold food in the restaurant spoils the food experience

First time in Rhodes Town and it is difficult to fault the position of the Kipriotis Hotel - the beach is just across the road and you can walk to the Harbours and the ancient Old Town in 10-15 minutes. The hotel is well-appointed, bedroom good - with an excellent comfortable bed to make for a good sleep. The entertainment is 3 nights per week - Thursday, Friday and Tuesday - and the quality is very good. Group with lead Girl Singer did a 1 hour 55 min set with no interval, Greek Dancers and Group did 2 hours and the Rock Group on the Tuesday night did 2 1/2 hours without a break. Not what you get in Spain! The restaurant looked good but the hot food just wasnt hot enough - breakfast or dinner. The Pool Bar and Restaurant were excellent - the food there was always freshly cooked and suitably hot - and the bar staff friendly and efficient. A tip for anyone staying - there is a breakfast are next to the bar which is quieter (and nicer) than the main restaurant area. To start with we wondered if was a special extra-cost things but it was open to all taking the meal options. We would recommend also the Martini Bar across the road for nights when there is no Hotel entertainment - friendly landlady, Karaoke and very affordable drinks. The Hotel Pool is good - coldish but it was October - low sun means you need to get sun bed to suit how the sun passes over in Autumn. The beach is attractive but the pebbly waters edge was a challenge for those with limited mobility.

    Friendly and comfy hotel .

Spent a week hear early October and enjoyed it . Had a lovely room ( 127) which had an amazing view of the Aegean . Nice comfy bed , decent bathroom . It had a safe ( extra cost ) which I didn't use and air conditioning ( again extra) which I needed was well worth it . Good wardrobe with lots of hangers and a dressing table , TV etc , everything you needed . The hotel was 2 mins form the beach , plus it had it's own pool spa etc . Breakfast was good , nice choice of hot and cold buffet food plus coffee juices etc . There is a quieter breakfast room to the right of the lifts near the bar , much nicer than the main one in my opinion. All the staff were lovely and friendly , the Australian born lady in the shop especially so . Good shop as well and reasonable prices. I gather it is being refurbished so hope when they do they don't lose the character and friendliness of the place , All in all I really enjoyed my stay here and would happily go back .

    Holiday

Stayed here from 21st september until 5th october. Not much space to keep your clothes. Kept most of my clothes in suitcase. Room was clean, the maid fatima was lovely and hard wotking. Could always tell when she was day off as room wasn't cleaned as well. Most the staff were lovely, except for one female on reception. The one with her off white blouse thats always looked dirty and never had a iron to it. The lady who sits on chair at the bar doing the receipts needs to learn how to talk to guests and smile. Entertainment is 3 nights a week. Rock band night was the best, followed by greek dancing. Mum and me had upgraded from self catering to half board when we booked the holiday...Big Mistake. Hardly ate any food at night. They don't cater for the english much, and food was cold. We mentioned it to adele the rep who spoke to the manager. Was a bit warmer after that. Reception is nice and clean. Think the bar could do with being open from 12pm. Because if sat in reception and wanted a tea, coffee of a beer u would have to go downstairs to the pool bar. Rhodes is a lovely place with so much to see and do. I would deffo go back to rhodes but on a self catering package. Symi is a must if u do a trip. It truly is amazing

Great Staff, Great Place!!! End Of An Era!

The Hotel is undergoing an upgrade and name change soon to be the Horizon Blu, Just hope they keep the great staff we have met over the years especially Maria from the horizon who we met 4 yrs ago when we honeymooned at the Rhodos Horizon hotel now the sister hotel to the Kipriotis, she never forgets our anniversary!! luckily for her that her Birthday falls the same month whilst we are there otherwise we would be forced into going a third time each year just to celebrate with her, great receptionist who speaks 6 or 7 languages! a real asset to any company and a very helpful caring person! also many thanks to Avianne who is always very helpful especially as the hotel restoration was well underway during our stay! I hope they leave some of the character of the hotel and Not Too BRIGHT! like the Rhodos Horizon please keep some ambience in the bar area, Talking of bars! Great cocktails Johan & a great Lime & Soda my friend Lol ( private joke) so to Poppy in the shop my Aussie/Greek Friend answer "B" still laughing. We are looking forward to seeing the the upgrades in May and of course to all the hard working staff Nick,Savvas,Marina and all the others we chat with! Best wishes John & Helen

    Good Value

We, a couple in our 40s with no kids, booked through Tui. Our room was a good size, and quite well appointed. One criticism is that you had to pay for air-conditioning..which we didn't do. The public areas were clean and all staff were very polite and friendly. My husband enjoyed swimming in the pool and we could always get a sunbed in the sun. Breakfast was varied and continually restocked by staff. The location was ok but I wish it was closer to the stunning Old Town.
