Lovely spot in the Eastern HighlandsThis is a lovely hotel with a lot of history. It sits on land once owned by Cecil Rhodes and is now in the Nyanga National Park. We were there in the low season so the place was pretty quiet. The service was excellent, simple meals in the dining room and drinks by the fire in the bar. There is trout fishing in nearby lakes and grilled trout is always on the menu. The staff has a lot of pride in their hotel and the park that encompasses it. The park has several waterfalls and lakes to explore and Mt Nyangani, the highest in Zimbabwe, to climb. And if you make the climb, you may get the staff to present you with a certificate of your accomplishment! To get to some a high clearance vehicle is recommended, especially in around the rainy season

Wonderful two nightsAs a group of 7 we recently spent two nights at Rhodes at the beginning and end of hiking on the turaco trail. Although the hotel is in need of some TLC, it was as quaint and charming as I remembered, with helpful friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. The dinner was excellent, the trout cooked to perfection, and a great breakfast. Thanks to everyone for a very pleasant stay.

Great value, great staff, good foodRooms range from quite small and basic through to the fancy ones (room 1 or 2 and room 8). But all very clean and comfortable and good value. Friendly professional staff. Looking forward to going back.

VacationA bit of a facelift and good maintenance will definitely bring this place up to its former self. Its a very charming place with pleasant staff. location is good and easy access into Nyanga National park. Driving around in the park can be a challenge if you dont have a 4x4 vehicle with good ground clearance especially rainy season. Otherwise its a nice place to relax.

CharmingThis is a very good option in Nyanga. A rustique nice atmosphere with old furnitures and historical wibe. Really like it!! A bit of maintainence here there is needed, but its clean, charming, nice staff. Only thing i can say is a drawback is the food. A bit more passion and creativity on the food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner could absolutt be better. Otherwice, very pleasant stay! Recomending!
