    Excellent stay!

We stayed for five nights at the small modern Hotel Pinger as part of a group on a railway holiday; the hotel is very handily located for Remagen railway station being directly across the road from it. Our bedroom at the rear of the hotel on the fourth floor was clean, fairly plain of decor, of adequate size and with comfortable beds. There was a decent shower in the en suite. Being so close to the railway, you could hear trains if the window was open, but we werent disturbed by them. Breakfast and dinner were from a buffet, and the food in both cases was decent and with sufficient choice. Drinks could be bought from the bar or ordered from waiting staff, with payment in cash only. Our stay included New Years Eve when a party was organised with live music for dancing and dinner courses spread throughout the evening; this was most enjoyable. At midnight we all went outside the hotel to watch the fireworks. There is a lift in the hotel from a mezzanine floor accessed by a few steps from reception. Staff were very friendly, including the two brothers running the hotel. We found it useful to be able to make up rolls at breakfast for a packed lunch at a cost of 1.50 per filled roll.

    Could not fault this hotel

just back from a tour organised by Leger Holidays and stayed at this hotel over New Year. It is family run and all the family plus their staff could not do enough for you. The breakfasts were excellent and given the hotel was full they always made sure there was enough for everyone - buffet service the other nights apart from a five course set dinner for New Year which was also excellent. The entertainment was very good and there was fireworks, mulled wine, biscuits and even hot soup to celebrate New Year British time. The room was spotlessly clean, very spacious and great shower facilities. As others have said the hotel is next to the railway and we were at the front but really the noise of the trains did not affect us. All in all a wonderful tour organised by Leger and hosted by the Pinger family - thank you

    Christmas markets

Stayed here for 3 nights as a centre for a Christmas markets tour of Koblenz, Linz and area. Hotel very conveniently placed opposite Remagen train station. Bedroom fine quite old furniture but was very comfortable and adequate. Food lovely, buffet style with good choices. Staff very welcoming. There is no bar area to sit and chat but a very enjoyable stay. Remagen is a lovely place on the banks of the Rhine and the visit is not complete unless you walk 10 minutes along the riverbank to see the famous Bridge at Remagen.

    Excellent family run hotel

I have recently returned from a 5 day trip to the Pinger Hotel with Ledger Travel. We arrived at 2.30am in the morning after a very long journey by coach. The hotel staff were very friendly and we were quickly allocated our rooms. Our room was at the front of the Hotel facing the railway station, very warm with an excellent bathroom/shower room and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast and evening meals were buffet style with plenty of choice and very good. One of the brothers who owned the hotel Leonard Pinger took a keen interest in his guests and led a couple of the tours from the hotel giving lots of information of the local area, landmarks, traditions etc. As highlighted in previous reviews The New Years eve party was excellent, a 5 course meal spread out over several hours with live music in between courses. Everybody wore Venetian masks for most of the evening which added to the atmosphere. Mr and Mrs Pinger also joined in with the festivities wearing amazing masks. The firework display outside the Hotel and champagne on the stroke of midnight rounded off what was really an excellent experience. New Years day was an informative guided walk around Remagen by Leonard Pinger followed by gluhwein back at the hotel. This hotel is a very clean/tidy hotel with a great deal of attention to detail. I would just like to thank the Pinger family and staff for giving us such an excellent experience for the New Year and would certainly recommend this hotel to other people.

Crusader Holidays (Part of the Motts Travel Group) DO NOT TRAVEL WITH THIS COMPANY UNLESS......

I have always valued customer reviews, both positive and negative, when purchasing an item or service. There are times when it would seem that the author of a negative review has an obvious agenda, but there are also times when a negative review is most definitely genuine - this review falls in that category. Having booked 2 rooms for 4 people in this hotel through Crusader Holidays, 8 months before the trip, on arrival we were told that there was no availability in the hotel and our accommodation was to be in 2 rooms for 4 people in a building 100 metres from the hotel. This we said was totally unacceptable as my wife had a medical condition which made the use of stairs very difficult. I have medical proof of this. (This building had no lift, but the hotel did) The driver of our trip was sympathetic and asked all those on the trip (more than 30 people) if they would consider swopping rooms. Nobody was willing to entertain this option, quite understandably. The hotel manager then said there was a single room available into which could be squeezed another bed - totally unacceptable!! The end result was that we had no option but to stay in this unsuitable building which totally ruined the trip. I suggested that the building was being used as the company and hotel had purposely overbooked the hotel. The response I got was that the hotel had done well considering there had been an emergency. The emergency was that the communal toilet was being refurbished, necessitating the need for a guest room to be used as a public toilet. This refurbishment had been going on for three months at the time we were there, as proudly admitted by the manager. Yes, that is 3 MONTHS!!, not 3 days. I was later told that I should have informed the company of my wife's condition as a special request for a room in the hotel. When I book and pay for a room in a hotel, 8 months before the trip, and having checked that the hotel had a lift, I do not expect that to be a special request - I expect that to be my right. I have much more negative information should it be required. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
