  Worst staff ever!

  The hostel itself is okay; 10 minute walk to the city and rooms are clean. I had a great stay for the first night, so I booked another night. However due to change of plans, I canceled my second night. I went back to the hostel to pack my stuff. When I arrived, my stuff were gone and I found it beside the door which was wide open at the time. I met the hostel owner and asked him if I could still use the restroom. He rudely told me that I wasn't allowed to, and told me to go outside. The worst thing waswhile I was in the lobby,waiting for my friend's car to arrive; he suddenly went to me and angrily told me :"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE" I felt very unwelcomed and I was disgusted by what the owner has done. I don't understand why this hostel has such great ratings in agoda or booking.com.... So far, this is the worst thing a hostel/hotel staff has ever done to me. Just a friendly reminder for those people who plan to stay here: the hostel automatically turns their aircon off at 7am and there is only one bathroom. Think twice before you book.

  Nice and cozy eco hostel

  The hostel itself is okay; 10 minute walk to the city and rooms are clean. A perfect stop on our journey from Pingtung to Taipei on our bikes. I have read in earlier reviews that the staff was bad. I couldn't agree. They were nice. Only problem was that they were no there all the time and they applied some self-service and honest system on stuff. I think it worked fine. The hostel calls it self a eci hostel so the hot water and air-con is automatically turned off during day time and there is only a toilet to share by eight beds.

  Cozy and convenient, especially for cyclists

  I've stayed at RGB twice during round-the-island cycling trips. I've had nothing but great experiences and wouldn't hesitate to recommend RGB. If you have a bike, the location is ideal: the hostel is right off the both the Taitung bikeway and Cycle Route 1/Highway 9. Bike rental is also available. Rooms are basic but clean and the dorms feature a really cool bunk setup. Staff are affable and extremely accommodating; on my first trip, I showed up without a reservation and within an hour had a room, train tickets, and more trip recommendations than I could use. One heads-up: As mentioned below, there are two dogs on site. They're limited to the common room and are extremely well-behaved. Both go home with the owner at night.

  New, clean, well-organized

  Had a wonderful stay here. The owner is very kind and helpful to travelers and speaks English very well. Rooms are clean and I loved how the beds are built to maximize privacy. Everything feels modern and fresh, including the kitchen and common area.

  Good hostel but a little far

  A chick and clean hotel, but got some downside to it Generally if you like to stay away from the crowds from Tiehua street area its pretty good, but if you like things to be convenient then maybe not. Pros: - New andvery hip cargo design - The room is nice and each bunk beds got good privacy with phone charger available - maybe far but got many essentials ie. Toiletry, food etc available for sales on site - free movie every night - often got some cool event organised by the hostel ie. go to hotspring - friendly and helpful staff Cons: - quite far from many other thibgs apart from sugar factory - with the distance, bicycle should be available not for rent (100ntd is a bit...) - i love dog, but the place allow the dog to come into lobby, so some Customer might get allergic to the fur - pick up service available mentioned on website, but only for one time per your stay only, so its a bit of a disappointment when you realised that the you need to take your own transportation later. A clear notification would be great, so we can use that pickup service wisely
