  Great Location, Awesome Staff, Rooms need Updated

  I crewed a sailboat during a regatta and this is where the crew stayed until our passage back to the Okinawa main island. The rooms were clean but really outdated like most Japanese Hotels. It had a 1970s feel to it. Other than that the staff spoke English and helps you speak Japanese so that is a big A+ in my book. The island itself is very beautiful, not overly industrialized like Okinawa and the mainland of Japan. It really feels like an island from a simpler time.

  My first visit so can not compare hotels but happy with my choice

  4 nights at Resort Hotel Kume Island. Our JAL package tour included car rental and we arrived from the airport to the hotel with no problem. Checked in with ease and stayed at Rm.212. The room was of decent size. Quite happy with the room except for lack of any elevators and climbing up the stairs to our room with our luggage when checking in and checking out. Numerous restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. I recommend KAMEYOSHI, UMIBOZU and NAMIJI. My first visit so I can not compare hotels but my wife and I were happy with our choice. Breakfast could improve. (as it was included in our package we stopped going after trying it out twice)

  A Little Slice of paradise

  This hotel was a pleasant surprise in the midst of tranquil and undeveloped Kumejima. The resort is modern and spacious situated a few hundred meters off beautiful Eef Beach. Dinner in the restaurant was outstanding. The outdoor pool is large and kid friendly. There is no bar or lounge but there is an agreement with one close by. .

  Great hotel for Marathon

  Stayed here for the Kumejima Marathon 2 years in a row. Rooms could use an update but still good. Staff was extremely nice. Good breakfast. Great location for tourist. For the marathons could walk to start line. If not running full, we watched racers run by hotel & cheered them on.

  Comfortable but old building

  Resort Hotel Kume Island was a huge complex that can probably House 10% of the island population. It felt almost abandoned while we stayed. While the resort grounds were kept well, the interior probably has not been renovated since the 80s. The stale cigarette stench filled the hallways and while everything was functioning, the room was in a desperate need of some renovation. Puddles on the balcony never drained making it impossible to hang out on it. Luckily the beds were at least comfortable and the room was spacious enough for three. The pool looked great but it just never got warm enough for us to enjoy it. Worst part was the thin walls that didnt stuff out any noise from the outside. Even with less than 10% occupancy, noise was an issue when kids from a floor below were being loud. Breakfast spread was good with lot of healthy options and local Okinawa dishes. The airport bus route stopping at the entrance was also a nice convenience.
