  Estancia maravillosa en Lucca

  Un lugar con mucho encanto, lo descubrimos por booking y no conociamos Lucca, pero ha sido una grata sorpresa, ya que desde que entramos por la puerta el trato fue de 10. Los dueños son una pareja encantadora, ella (Silvia)nos recibió para el check-in y él nos preparó el desayuno a la mañana siguiente. Un desayuno espectacular, sano y muy completo por sólo 3,50 por persona. La habitación con un encanto especial, conservando cada detalle (flores, manteles de ganchillo, contraventanas de madera antiguas, armarios de época...) y muy limpia. Da la sensación de que ha sido reformada ya que conserva un aire antiguo pero con ventanas, puertas y sanitarios totalmente nuevos y de calidad. Si alguna vez volvemos a Lucca (que esperamos volver) no dudaremos en hospedarnos en esta linda casita. Nota: en la foto del desayuno falta el pan calentito, un cafe espresso buenisimo y bizcocho de fresa casero.

  Above and beyond!

  Francesco and Sylvia were the ultimate hosts, going above and beyond to make our stay a perfect getaway in Lucca. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The views from the windows quickly remind you that you are indeed in the heart of a charming Italian walled city. Breakfast was spectacular...served with pride and TLC by Sylvia herself. I would definitely recommend this hotel b&b for your next stay in Luca, Italy.

  Parking tips

  The lady was extremely helpful and friendly to explain and help finding the correct parking space, although we did not even stay at her place. And then she even came into the rain to help us navigate the car. Thank you again, you were very kind!

  Three night stay utterly ruined by level of external noise

  We had booked Residenza Centro Storico for a three night stay-Friday11 -Sunday 13 June.On arrival we were told that it might be a it noisy over the weekend-the property is located in a small square just past the cathedral in lucca.The owners were sort of jokey about this and initially we didnt take it too seriously.The room and bathroom were pleasant but we alarmed to note the presence of ear plugs and the lack of air conditioning.Unfortunately the noise that evening far exceeded our expectations.Gangs of youths starting drinking and partying in the square around 10pm and continued to around 4.30 am.The level of noise was colossal.Sleep was utterly impossible and we spent a very uncomfortable night with earplugs in,windows closed and no air conditioning.We complained about the noise in the morning and received profuse apologies but in a flippant manner.We were told that we would have a portable air conditioner unit for Saturday night.Saturday night turned out to be even worse than the Friday.Gangs of drunken youths drinking and carousing till dawn -around 5am.Again no sleep.What a night-colossal external noise,a/c unit like a very loud vacuum cleaner,ear plugs,heat.You do not expect such a nightmare scenario on holiday.Complained about it again-apologies but nothing else.Sunday night slightly better but a drunken gang hung around for about 2hours. When leaving we complained very strongly about the whole experience saying that it had ruined our stay in Lucca and suggested that a reduction in our bill would be appropriate.Nothing was forthcoming.The owners of this property realise there is a serious noise problem and have reported it to the police. No action has been taken to deal with it.I can sympathise with them to some extent but feel that by letting out the rooms that front the square they are being deeply uncaring and inconsiderate to guests knowing the level of noise and discomfort that will have to endure. It is my view that the rooms fronting the square are not suitable as guest rooms if the level of external noise is maintained at the levels we experienced.I have travelled extensively most of my life and the noise levels are the worst I have ever experienced. I have stayed in Lucca every year since 2010 and have not experienced this level of street noise before.Is the nature of Lucca changing?

  3 nights of hell

  Good location and a nice place, spacious, well kept and clean. BUT we had no sleep during our entire stay here - it was a complete nightmare. The area outside is fairly quiet until closing time and then it goes completely crazy - people (primarily young and drunk) gathering in groups and shouting until 5am in the morning. We would never have booked this accommodation if we had known this - the earplugs provided in the room by the owner say it all I guess. When we go away we want to get a good night's sleep so we are fit and well for sightseeing - we ended up totally exhausted and it completely spoiled our trip to Lucca. I do not know any other country that permits people to be drunk and disorderly out on the streets, disturbing both tourists and local residents, until the early hours of the morning. The owner is aware that there is a huge noise issue at night. It is unacceptable to knowingly rent out these rooms when noise is such a huge issue. Why do the police not do something about it?? We will return to Lucca as it is an absolutely wonderful place but we will NEVER return to the Residenza Centro Storico.
