Great location, fantastic viewsThe hotel is on a hillside with fantastic views of Sirmione and the lake. It offers both self catering and bed & breakfast accommodation, and I opted for the latter. My room was on the third floor, no kitchen, and it had a velux window so I didn't need air conditioning, despite the really hot weather at the end of August. There were no views, but the price I paid reflected this. Great continental breakfast with plenty of choice in the morning. The restaurant offers a la carte dining in the evening, except on Mondays. There are other restaurants within walking distance, although there are hills to contend with. The pool is immaculate, with plenty of loungers and deckchairs. The owner and his staff were extremely helpful and polite. Free wifi, too.

My favorite place to stay near Lake GardaThere is something to say about a hotel feeling like a home. The owner Paolo is an exceptional host. The room's are private and clean. Kitchen is stacked with all you need to cook a basic meal and morning coffee. The nearest grocery store is right down the hill from the hotel with all the ingredients needed to cook a fresh meal. The sea view is breathtaking!! I have repeated my visit in Siano Del Lago at Residence Rocco for over 8 years. I highly recommend staying with Paolo and his lovely family.

Comfortable and relaxed hotel with apartments on a beautiful locationWe spent two weeks in San Rocco in Soiano during our summer holidays. The location is absolutely amazing. The complex is set in an old monastery on a hill, overlooking the Southern part of Lake Garda. It is small enough to be charming and big enough to have good facilities, like the large pool and a restaurant. While sometimes advertised as an agriturismo, it isn't really one in our opinion, more a residence / hotel with apartments. We had a comfortable and relatively large apartment on the North side with a separate bedroom. We strongly recommend this side in summer as the temperatures remain acceptable inside. we spoke to other guests who had sun-faced apartments and they were quite warm and we did not see A/C. Our apartment was quite big and comfortable, the furniture is a bit sparse and it didn't have a very modern feel to it, as did the bathroom. The kitchenette was ok, we would have appreciated a bit more cutlery and most important in that region: a corkscrew ;-) The rooms are sometimes a bit noisy, probably due to the old building and the tile floors in all apartments. The place was kept very clean and ample towels and linnen was provided. There is a bakery / small shop within 5 minutes by foot, which is really handy for breakfast. About 2-3 miles down te main road is a large supermarket. And really anything you could wish for during a summer holiday is within reach: great restaurants, the beach, wineries, lovely little lakeside towns, larger cities (Verona is 40 minutes, Mantova 45', Milan 75', Venice 75'), etc. San Rocco is a great place if you are looking for a relatively small, comfortable and charming place to stay in an area that is filled with loads of tourists and screaming children, then we would suggest you visit San Rocco. The owner Paolo is very helpful and a true host and speaks his languages too. If we could suggest any positive changes we would say: the WiFi coverage is perfect throughout the complex, but the speed is really really slow (0.4 Mb/s at best). A second thing is information for the guest. First about the location itself: the restaurant, the pool, the oil shop, etc and there is sooo much to do in the area that information about great places to visit (wineries, restaurants, villages, etc) would be very helpful for the guests. There was a table full of commercial leaflets from all sorts of venues, but we would appreciate a personal booklet with for example the owners little 'secret' places around. In summary: a comfortable, charming place in a perfect location.

Wonderful location but mediocre roomsDon't go here if you're annoyed by noise / sounds. The rooms don't have any kind of sound insulation at all. you can follow conversations from the adjacent rooms and the stairs and hallways are tiled which causes a lot of noise for everyone passing through anywhere on the same story. Despite the seemingly remote location, you do get quite some traffic noise from the road lining the property and one of the nights the hotel next door had a wedding with loud music going on until 4 in the morning, which really ruined the relaxation this hotel was supposed to offer us. We noticed some rooms are nicely renovated, though we were still in one of the threadbare old rooms. Everything was clean and the miniscule kitchenette did have all you need to cook a simple meal, which was nice. One of the nights we returned after the closing of the gate. Unfortunately, the provided access code did not work for us, so we had no way to enter the property. We ended up parking the car down the road and hiking through the orchard to circumvent the gate/fence to be able to return to our beds. That said, the location is beautiful, the orchard, terraces and pool really lift your spirits. From the top terrace the Garda lake is visible and the location is a great starting point for trips by car up to the north point of the lake, or down to Sirmione towards Pesciera del Garda. For us, the negative points did outweigh the positive points, so I myself would not book here again, I guess if you're less annoyed by noise than we are, you might have a perfectly comfortable stay.
