  Stunning Views

  We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely property right on the waterfront in Room 3, which had large windows looking out across the harbour. Whilst the bathroom could do with an update, it was perfectly adequate and the location and view more than made up for it. Claudia and Petra were very friendly and helpful, recommending places to see and eat. There was no oven in the apartment only a small hob, so people who prefer to self cater would need to be aware of this. You are however, right in the heart of this charming town so there are plenty of places to eat out within a very short distance and we had not intended to cook, so it was not a problem for us. However, a cafetière would have been extremely useful. Rovinj is a beautiful place and these apartments are ideally situated to explore.

  Perfect change of scenery with sea view

  We made a last minute decision to stay an extra night in Rovinj but away from the larger resorts and into the town itself. The reviews so far that have been favourable for this apartment are spot on. We had a lovely interaction online before arriving and when we did arrive were greeted with big smiles and friendly faces. We were helped with our bags to the apartment and everything was just nice and easy and pleasant. The room was charming and had a lovely sea view and quaint furniture throughout. We felt so lucky to be able to experience staying in a former residence so close to everything. Imagine falling asleep with the sounds of the sea and the clinking of glasses from the restaurants surrounding (this doesn't go on too late) from people enjoying themselves.. Honestly could not have been happier. If you wanted to shut the windows and the noise out then you can, there is ac but honestly why would you...i would come back here in a heartbeat and would recommend anyone looking for a slice of authentic rovinj to book this up as it's just so homely and great. Plus the warm welcome as I said at the beginning just made us even more happy to be there. Enjoy!

  Lovely sea view room with porch

  We had room #1 which is above the restaurant and has its own little porch overlooking the harbor. The decor of the apartment is somewhere in between homely/rustic and traditional European style - which made it quite cozy and lovely when the sun shines in through the windows. I enjoyed the living area and porch very much! It feels very much like youre living in someones home so while everything is in place, it does not seem 100% clean. The toilet is small and functional. The bedroom is located in the rear so it is much smaller and darker. That gave the perception that it could be cleaner and brighter. The bed was not the most comfortable. We stayed during the low season so it was actually not that noisy at night though we could hear people talking outside and when neighbors came back, we could hear them coming up the stairs too. I was also awoken by dogs barking in the early morning. It really depends on the type of experience you are looking for. If you want a modern room with all the usual hotel facilities and conveniences, there are many other options in Rovinj with equally good views of the sea. But Porta Antica is a quaint lovely place that allows you to imagine what it might be like living in a small traditional European home, and we really enjoyed spending time relaxing in the apartment during the day. The hosts Claudia and Petra are also super lovely and were very friendly and helpful!

  Outstanding Location

  The location could not be better. The view from the hotel is simply stunning. The room I stayed had a beautiful view of the Adriatic and was only one minute walk to the water. The hotel is close to the bus stop (walking distance) as well as bars and restaurants. The customer service was outstanding, and the room was nice and clean. The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

  Not for everyone, great location

  We found this place last minute by walking, conveniently located in the middle of Rovinj, it is great once you are there but you will need to carry your luggage from the public parking lot to here. We loved the old style apartments, not for everyone, but if you do like that style, very nicely decorated, we were very pleased. All amenities are present in the room, lots of nice touches and comfortable bed. Book directly with the residence as aggregators like Booking take a huge commission so better to book directly so the hotel wont need to raise prices.
